Next-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB spied testing ahead of global unveil Mercedes-Benz is said to be working on the next-generation E-Class ahead of its global debut expected soon.
While the standard wheelbase model has been spied on multiple occasions, fresh spy images of the luxury sedan have been released online, which give us a glimpse of the long wheelbase variant of the E-Class. The new-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB variant, codenamed V214, retails in markets like India and China.
Although the spy images showcase a camouflaged sedan, the upcoming model is expected to come with a refreshed design, borrowing styling cues from the brand's flagship S-Class offering. The E-Class could also feature a new headlamp design, a larger front grille, and a different rear door design, along with a few tweaks at the rear.
Reports state that the next-gen E-Class LWB will feature a dashboard similar to the EQE model, with a free-standing digital instrument cluster and a large display for the central infotainment system. The luxury sedan will also offer plenty of connected tech and driver assistance features as standard.
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB will continue to be offered with petrol and diesel engine options, with a 48V electric system as standard. The higher trims will be offered with both mild and plug-in hybrid options, with the latter featuring a 28.6 kWh battery giving the car an electric-only range of 100 km. The powertrain will be paired with a standard 9-speed automatic gearbox. Lower variants will come with a rear-wheel drive system, while the higher trims will get Mercedes' 4MATIC all-wheel drive configuration.
There will also be an AMG version of the new E-Class at a slightly later stage.
The next-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB is expected to make its debut sometime next year. The carmaker is expected to introduce the model in India, which could take place in the latter half of 2023.
