Honda has revealed that it is working on a new FCEV based on the new-gen CR-V crossover.

The new CR-V-based hydrogen electric vehicle is said to be part of Honda's plans to achieve 100 per cent global auto sales via BEVs & FCEVs by 2040. While details of the upcoming CR-V-based FCEV are very limited, the car is said to be manufactured at Honda's Performance Manufacturing Centre in Ohio, USA. This facility has been designed to produce low-volume speciality models, such as the Acura NSX and other development race cars.



Honda is also yet to reveal whether the upcoming FCEV crossover will carry forward a similar styling as the current-gen CR-V. However, reports suggest that being a low-volume production, the FCEV could come with a few major changes, both inside & out.

First look at hydrogen fuel-cell 2024 Honda CR-V spotted in Japan.

Though its official name hasn't quite been confirmed just yet, these spyshots by X user TW MC shows the car with more than a passing likeness with the CR-V: the rear-end is practically the same (save for the clear taillamps), and the front is similar, barring the different bumper.
