I think the reason this list is skewed towards SUVs is because they are more likely to be driven long-distance in the US. Toyota sedans like Camry and Corolla are likely restricted to cities or suburbs, so perhaps this is not an apples-to-apples comparison.

As incomes increase and we gravitate to consumption driven society wanting to keep up with the Joneses, a well maintained car is way down the priority list.

Interestingly, some of the world billionaires are happy using 20 year old cars.

To each his own as I cruise down Bengaluru in my beloved 2006 Hyundai Getz.

4 more years to go to join the 20 year car owner billionaire club (billionaire not yet by bank balance but certainly by Attitude).

Mitsubishi Pajero 1 million kms and running.
Not sure if anyone saw the video of this patrolling lady using a 2009 Mitsubishi Pajero. Completed 1 million kms and running strong. This lady munches 5000 kms per week due to her job.
It’s so amazing. Such quality and longevity.
