I have watched some YT videos of this location and used to wonder, why can't they give some kind of warning to the drivers or better still, build a bridge!
It seems this location has been like this for long.
It is a moneybag location for YT creators though, going by the number of videos from this location.
I was made aware of such a video series a few months ago and since then, they keep popping up on my feed. Once I start watching, I am hooked for some time. They're addictive for sure.
As for the ford, I feel it is due to the carelessness of the drivers that the cars are ruined. Most of them plunge into the ford as if no one's business. The rare few those who are careful, mostly make it across without any trouble. And the kingmakers are the Range Rovers.:D
I came across these videos a while ago.
It seems the most experienced drivers with non-SUV sized 'lesser' cars are surviving it by simply going slow and not forcing the water into the engine which you would at speed, whereas some of the guys stalling with the big SUVs are overconfident of their machines and rushing through at speed.
People of Gurgaon are either going to relate to this or scoff at these amateurs lol:

Land Rover : our cars might break down middle of the road but will never leave you stranded in a river.
It's funny but people with lowest ground clearance are the ones diving fastest into the water while the ones with 700mm fording capabilities are slowest. That one guy with snorkel did the slowest pass through.
The Rufford road was closed recently. Some of the YouTubers rely on this would suffer as a result. The reason could be some of 4x4 drivers drove at a high rate of speed and police / farmers are not happy it seems.
They are going to block the road permanently.
