I hope they get the front grill right!
Finally here's a new Bimmer without a disproportionate grill. Also the headlights slightly resemble the E60 generation. After all, it's a G60, isn't it? Hopefully, the driving experience is also as pure as the E60.
Also, the steering wheel looks identical to the one in the Alfa Romeo Giula and Stelvio:

Looks like a rehash of past BMW designs and pretty boring. But then boring may be a good thing when BMW has been going crazy with their ginormous grills, split lights, weird shapes and all :coldsweat
Front Design Leaked;

and I like it. I hated to see the Horizontal slats before but it seems to work on the M5. Atleast in the Rendering it does.
Not sure if I have gotten used to it by now.
7th Gen BMW M5 (G90) Premieres;
Engine: It gets the BMW M Hybrid drive system 4.4L V8, produces 717 hp, 1000 NM of torque.
Gearbox: 8 - Speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic.
Acceleration: 0-60 mph in 3.4 secs (Slower than F90? :confused:)
Should debut in India by end of this year :thumbs up
As powerful as it is, the weight penalty because of hybrid system is crazy. The car weighs a staggering 2500 kgs which is more than full sized SUVs, trucks and many other fully electric cars and that could very well be reason it's slower to 100 than the predecessor and even the M3.
I'm sure the weight will magically disappear while driving thanks to all the electronics but enthusiasts *will* take note of the weight.

It's a staggering 500-odd kilos heavier than the outgoing F90 M5, which means that even though it has a huge bump in power, the power-to-weight ratio is worse than the F90.
Not sure I'm a fan of this new M5 to be honest
Its officially a boat. Big boat. I think how do BMW engineers and designers have a good nights sleep? I am scared looking at the images and knowing its weight. Its too radical, polarizing, explicit.

Performance aside, the design too. The 5 series has long lost stately elegant look it once had and is now just an angry monster. The last good looking 5er was the 2010~ F10 series IMO. And it has glowing grille up front as if the size wasn't enough. I would expect that from Hyundai and Kia, but BMW? That green color is pure brilliance though.

Its mind blowing to see the 2004 M5 almost has same power/weight ratio as the car launched 20 years later (and may be even looks better).
A sleek looking fat lady she is eh. I for one cannot understand manufacturers fetish with plugin hybrids, I feel it's the worst of both worlds. The ICE has to bear the dead weight of the electric motors & battery pack when it's out of juice. Neither can it charge the battery like a proper hybrid. Correct me if I am wrong here.
