This is the 738-HP BMW XM Label Red:

The Label Red will act as the flagship variant of the super SUV offering a boosted version of the plug-in hybrid powertrain that will make it the most powerful non-electric crossover in the market.


Fitting of the name is the host of red accents not available on the standard variant of the XM. They include red around the massive front kidney grilles and red side window surrounds, elements that are ordinarily finished in gold but can be optioned in high-gloss black through BMW’s Shadow Line package.

BMW has also equipped the XM Label Red with distinctive wheels combining gloss black spokes with bright red accents. Look closely and you will notice that the XM badge on the grille is now finished in red. We don’t have a picture of the interior, but the German carmaker says that the red and black color scheme continues inside “drawing attention to specific details”.

While the carmaker hasn’t yet unveiled the XM Label Red in full, it has confirmed that it will have a healthy amount of additional power over the standard model that delivers 644 hp at 5,400 rpm and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque between 1,600 – 5,000 rpm. In particular, changes made to the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 and the electric motor found in the eight-speed automatic transmission will see the XM Label Red churn out 738 hp (748 PS / 550kW) and 735 lb-ft (997 Nm) of peak torque.

The XM Label Red will carry a hefty premium over the regular model. In fact, whereas the XM currently available starts at $159,000 plus a $995 destination and handling fee, U.S. pricing for the Label Red will kick off from $185,000.

Production ready 2023 BMWXM!

No, not as in satellite radio, but this X5-sized high-performance SUV has the fire-breathing 4.4L twin-turbo V8 paired with an electric motor and a 25.7 kWh battery pack, good for up to 30 miles of EV only range. Total power output comes to 644 HP and 590 lb-ft of torque with #xDriveAWD as standard.
BMW claims the X M will sprint from 0-60 MPH in 3.5 secs and an even hotter version has already confirmed to be making 750 HP. Pricing begins at $159,995 and it goes on sale early next year.

This thing is a giant, more like a muscular X7. Comparing it with X5 won't be fair, that's so small

That must be for the Red (hotter) one. The regular one is more like 4 + seconds.

Got a chance to check out the XM in person at a local BMW dealer, as well as at a roadshow event. If you thought it looks better in person.. no, it doesn't. It's as polarising in looks as it is in pics. The interiors though are true luxury. When kiku007 and I checked it out at a roadshow, we both commented on how comfortable the seats are.
