Volkswagen has revealed a facelifted version of the T-Roc, the update extends across the entire line-up, including the standard model, the T-Roc R and the T-Roc Cabriolet.

2022 Model receives a host of exterior styling and interior design upgrades.

- It features reworked headlights
- Revised grille with a light band running either side of a larger Volkswagen logo
- Redesigned bumper that houses new daytime-running lights and a new-look lower central air duct.





- At the rear, there are lightly revised tail-lights with new LED graphics.
- Altered rear bumper
- Redesigned alloy wheels, ranging from 16in to 19in



On the inside it houses a new 8.0in digital instrument display and new free-standing 6.5in (optionally 8.0in and 9.2in) touchscreen infotainment display.

New multifunction steering wheel from the Golf, reworked fabric door trims and revised switchgear, including digital controls for the air conditioning on the centre console.





Powertrain options include, a base 1.0-litre three-cylinder with 108bhp
- A 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit with 148bhp and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 187bhp.

- The two four-cylinder diesels have the same 2.0-litre capacity and offer a choice of 113bhp or 148bhp.





Front-wheel drive is standard on all but the 187bhp 2.0-litre petrol model, which receives 4Motion four-wheel drive. It is also an option on the 148bhp 2.0-litre diesel.

The refreshed 2022 model, due for UK delivery next April.

Volkswagen has unveiled the 2022 T-Roc SUV for the European market. The Volkswagen T-Roc receives a mid-life facelift and now comes packed with new features, minor design updates and a host of tech.



The T-Roc facelift now comes with an updated set of LED headlamps, new front bumper housing newly designed DRLs and a revised air intake. The crossover also features a tweaked front grille with a light bar connecting the headlamps. The 2022 T-Roc also gets newly designed alloy wheels ranging from 16 to 19-inches, while the rear features tail lights with redesigned LED graphics.



On the inside, the 2022 T-Roc facelift comes with an updated dashboard with a 9.2-inch central touchscreen infotainment system with Volkswagen's WeConnect suite, along with Smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The crossover also gets a new 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, reworked multifunction steering wheel, revised switchgear and door trims; among others.



The Volkswagen T-Roc is also available in the Cabriolet and the performance-oriented R-line trims. The T-Roc R-line variant features a number of exclusive details, including a larger air intake at the front, 18-inch Jerez alloy wheels, rear spoiler and many driver-assistance technologies.



Powering the 2022 Volkswagen T-Roc facelift is a set of three petrol engines. This includes a 108 BHP 1.0-litre TSI, 148 BHP 1.5-litre TSI and a 187 BHP 2.0-litre TSI units. There is also a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine offered in two state-of-tunes, producing 113 BHP or 148 BHP. All engines are mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The 2022 T-Roc facelift is expected to go on sale in the UK sometime in April next year. Prices for the same are expected to be revealed at a later date.

Thank you for sharing. Will have to wait and see if VW India will bring this latest model to India. I feel VW India would still continue the 2021 model in 2022 as well !

Engine options look great, variant with the 2.0L TDi should be a good alternative to the Compass and the Tucson, but VW doesn't want to give what the customers want.

From what I have heard from VW here while purchasing TRoc is that VW is stopping diesel option In India. Not sure if this is confirmed news.

I wish they can get the t-roc type r at 30-32l price. It will be a great halo product for the current VW lineup and have decent sales too.

Though T-roc has better quality, the Taigun makes more sense to me at 5-6l lower price, for a more practical back seat and useful features like ventilated seats if I am looking for a car at 20-25l besides lower service costs.

This is more of an elevated large hatch than a small SUV crossover. That being said this looks sharp as hell. Love the front fascia and the rear is simple clean and sleek. I think this would do well in India if this was priced similar to the Kushaq rather than at 25L but I guess they have the Taigun which is more practical so this doesn't really have a space in their lineup.

Is this 'Type-R' the one that will come with the mentioned 2.0L 187 BHP unit in OP or is that a variant with an even more powerful engine?

When is 2022 TROC launching in Europe? Can we expect it in india at the same time or VW plans to continue 2021 model only?. Not sure if 2021 model will continue to be manufactured or not

The facelifted 2022 VW T-Roc has already gone on sale in Europe. Volkswagen India has stopped taking orders on the pre-facelifted T-Roc.




I believe VW India will bring in the facelifted T-Roc (but not the cabriolet version or the R-Line) to India as fully imported unit during the festival period to position it between Taigun & Tiguan. Volkswagen can import a total of 2000 vehicles across all models every year without homologation requirements in India.

The new Volkswagen T-Roc debuts the 1.5 TSI Evo 2 engine.

The block of 150 hp was released in this model, and now it has been renewed betting on maximum efficiency.

the German brand has given a new twist to this engine, resulting in the 1.5 TSI Evo 2 engine. And, once again, it will be the T-Roc range that will debut it, mounting on other models progressively. A block has been so deeply reviewed that it can almost be qualified again, and of which we tell you all its details.

The keys to the Volkswagen 1.5 TSI Evo 2

Known as "EA211", it does not change the block, nor the four-cylinder architecture, nor its variable geometry turbo, although the gasoline direct injection system has been renewed to increase the injection pressure to 250 bar, which has also forced to reinforce the walls of the cylinders with a new plasma technology that reduces the frictions of the components, increasing efficiency. Another novelty fully affects one of the keys to efficiency, the cylinder deactivation system, which is now called "ACTplus".

This system disconnects the second and third cylinders when the engine is at low and medium load, so it has now been adjusted to operate in a wider range of the engine's rotational speed in this particular situation. Volkswagen has also replaced the current catalytic converter with a three-way catalyst with no precious metals inside to perform this function, making it cheaper, also adding a gasoline particulate filter closer to the engine. The result will be a further reduction in consumption and emissions.
