I think the car looks really handsome. The bonnet, front lights and the H logo resemble the 5th gen city albeit with some "concept" in them. The rear looks awesome but expect some changes in those multiple led lights.
My concern is this. If it is a sub 4m SUV then surely it won't have as much space as the WRV , which is like an empty stomach of a blue whale. Also if it is a sub 4m SUV then Honda will decide to put a 1.2 liter in it which will make it "underpowered" for enthusiasts but profitable for Honda. A 1.0 liter turbo makes sense but then haven't seen it yet on any Indian Honda cars so it is a far fetched dream.
If it is not a sub 4m then Honda will at least provide a 1.5 liter. Space will be similar to the city which is good. They can get a 1.0 turbo here then but again I'm not sure many would go for this over the brilliant and smooth 1.5. Also pricing will make it fall in the Creta/Seltos zone where the range will be very wide comprising of multiple engine/transmissions. I don't think Honda can command a premium vs the Honda City with similar engine, transmission and features. And at that price, will it cannibalize the city? If they price it at a premium over the city then the product will anyway be a deadbug. Tough choices for Honda.

Are we sure this is targetted at the Creta segment? Honda already has the HRV / Vezel in that space, internationally.
Looks to be a sub-4m vehicle to my eyes - and the design actually resembles Kia Sonet in many elements. Height is clearly at a disadvantage and the proportional length is unlikely to make it a Creta rival. |
I agree with you. To my untrained eyes, this looks like a jacked-up Brio with cross-over styling than a down-sized HRV.
What if this is a stunt by Honda just like Ford before it pulled the plug?
Honda could very well have ventured into CSUV segment long back but it never went beyond hypes and rumours! I felt Honda wanted a stronghold in sedan segment and didn't go into CSUV. And as for Indians now, with Tata and Mahindra pushing safety standards, a considerable chunk prefers safer cars. Also with steep price rises, ( A Celerio costs about 6 lakhs on road!) Any new car launch can be expected to be priced minimum of 2 lakhs above the current segment trend. With this, I believe this car would mostly be iterated with the L15B1 engine and priced between 12 to 18 lakhs. I hope this doesn't become another WRV

Indirectly they are trying to say that if launched in India it will rival the Creta and its likes in terms of
PRICING...
Why not? I remember reading somewhere that it is 4.3m long (same as Creta).

They unveiled this in Indonesia, not India.
Honda, who? Sorry! Oh, Honda from 2000’s or the Honda we know from the last decade?
Don’t even sweat it, Honda! We don’t expect you to get it here. You can consider india as third country for automobiles while you offer premium ones outside our shores. Is Honda lining up products for India anytime soon?

Although it’s using the same platform as the Honda BR-V, it’s speculated to use the same 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated engine in the Honda Brio. However, the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine found in the BR-V should not be ruled out.

The camouflaged Honda WR-V looks identical to the Honda RS SUV concept car. Despite the car is heavily camouflaged, the body line that stretches from the fender all the way to the rear-lights or the C-pillar’s design gives it away that this is based on the RS SUV concept car.

However, there are still some differences in the details such as the design of the headlights where the Honda RS SUV has smaller and more aggressive-looking headlights when compared to the Honda WR-V.

It appears that the Honda RS SUV (WR-V) 2023 would be largest in its segment.

Unveiling soon in Indonesia!
World premiere on
2nd Nov.

So, I guess this time, Honda might really introduce this car in India next year.
There are some unofficial talks about an early 2023 display of the car and a proposed mid to late 2023 launch in India.
They most probably will bring this car for the Auto show 2023.:Cheering:
