Hyundai Alcazar launched in Mexico as the Creta Grand

The Hyundai Alcazar is now available in Mexico as the Creta Grand.

The Creta Grand is available in two trims - Limited and GLS Premium. The SUV comes equipped with LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. It also gets features such as ventilated front seats, ambient lighting and an air purifier.

The Creta Grand is offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 157 BHP and 191 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

In India, the Alcazar is also available with a 1.5-litre diesel engine. This unit puts out 113 BHP and 250 Nm and is offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.

I think Creta Grand would have appealed more audience in India, Hyundai missed a free ride over insanely successful Creta Brand.

Alcazar is not doing half the numbers as Harrier / Hector, its even lesser than Safari. There was nothing to offer in terms of engine/ new goodies, only thing which could have given a strong headstart was Creta Brand. Common folks do not know what Alcazar is (a car or something else)

In Mexico, All new safari would have been rightly named as "Harrier Grand" I guess.

I somehow get reminded of the hugely failed Armada Grand from the 90s. How well it will sell in Mexico has to be seen.

Is the Creta or any of its rebadges sold in developed markets?
