206 Crores!!! I guess with more money comes more madness. In this unequal world, there should be a limit on how much a person can spend. Things like this are completely insane.

If a person has enormous wealth, let them choose what they want to do with it.

For the economy point, spending is always better than hoarding. Money has to circulate if it has to be of some use to Humankind rather than staying unused.

After all, this 206 crores will change hands from the buyer to RR and ultimately to its employees, shareholders, component supply chain and all associated people. If RR can show more value and get customers to pay even higher prices, even better.

We have a general thought process of imposing limits on everything, weddings for example. This thought has got to do with our licence-raj hangover and colonial past. The money spent always goes to the organizers, the various service providers. It makes all those who work for it get paid better.

Totally agree that opportunity wise, everyone should have equal access to good education, healthcare, social security and foundational needs required for upliftment.

How can everyone have equal access to good education, healthcare, etc when money is circulated only among a handful of super rich people?

According to a French Economist, Per capita income growth was 2.2% a year in the U.S. between 1950 and 1990. But when the number of billionaires exploded in the 1990s and 2000s — growing from about 100 in 1990 to around 600 today — per capita income growth fell to 1.1%.

The billionaires who spend on such things pay as little tax as possible using different tax havens. According to one study, they pay 30% less tax than they should denying governments billions in tax. Lost tax to govt means less money to spend on education, health, etc.

They also use their wealth to control politics, media thereby influencing elections, policies which in turn results in greater inequality and greater resources for the super rich.

That's why we need to limit extreme wealth if we want to give equal opportunity to everyone. Some wise person had said: "Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed"

Limiting my point only wrt., the Rolls-Royce coachbuilt models.

If this custom coach is bought by anyone in our country (definitely via CBU import), the government will get more than 100% of the car's price as tax. that goes towards country's welfare.

That sounds like a fair deal as far as Taxes are concerned. If anyone can afford it, let them splurge and enjoy.

Re: Rolls-Royce reinstates its coach building business

Rolls-Royce is aiming to produce a new car from its Coachbuild division every two years, according to company CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos – but such projects will occur only if there is both demand from buyers and an “appetite” from within the company.

Drop-top £20m Boat Tail is likely to be followed by other special projects.

Muller-Otvos said, the Coachbuild operation will sit alongside the firm’s existing Bespoke personalisation division, the two arms will complement each other.

Indian-origin businessman in UK has a fleet of 15 Rolls Royces: one that matches each of his turbans! Name of the guy is Reuben Singh.

Rolls-Royce will reveal the second of three highly exclusive, coachbuilt Boat Tail models at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d’Este in May.

Re: Rolls-Royce reinstates its coach building business

Dad builds Son an amazing Rolls-Royce Boat Tail replica out of wood. It's battery powered and even has a remote operated hosting suite under the rear deck for picnics.

The project took 68 days. It all starts with chunks of wood, two axles and an electric motor are added early on.

A simple chain drive from the motor turns the rear wheels, and there's even a disc brake to slow it down.

It has functional lights all around the exterior and interior, and passengers enter through proper reverse-opening suicide doors.

It also has a power-opening rear deck to reveal a hospitality tray, just like the real Boat Tail has.

There's even a stand for an umbrella, and it opens via remote control.
