The 2022 Range Rover Sport SUV has been caught testing at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Reports suggest that the new version of the SUV could be undergoing vehicle performance and endurance testing.



The spy images do not reveal much, but the 2022 Range Rover Sport SUV is expected to feature a number of subtle design updates all around. This could include updated LED headlamp and tail lamp units, a revised front grille, a slightly tweaked front and rear bumper and a newly-designed set of alloy wheels.



The 2022 Range Rover Sport is expected to feature significant updates on the interiors. These include a revamped dashboard with multiple digital screens, premium upholstery all around and a host of new features and equipment.



Entry-level variants of the 2022 Range Rover Sport are expected to carry forward the same 2.0-litre six-cylinder engine options from the current model. These will also receive the plug-in hybrid technology offering a combined output of 398 BHP / 640 Nm.

The range-topping models of the SUV, however, are expected to borrow the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol unit from BMW. This engine will replace the older 5.0-litre V8 unit.

And that single update takes this sassy SUV to the top of my list.

Notorious for being plagued with reliability issues, I used to keep a 10 mile distance from buying a JLR. However juicy the 5.0 V8 might be, it just wasn't enough to bypass the mind-block. But this 4.4 V8 from BMW is one of the best things that could have happened to this SUV.

I do understand that the electrical related issues play a big part again w.r.t. the poor reliability, but I'm willing to make the gamble.

Am eagerly looking forward to its launch.

It looks the same as the current one on sale, why did they need to camouflage it and do extensive testing? On second thoughts it looks more like the Velar.

As was to be expected seeing the spy pics, the new Range Rover Sport has taken on the family look seen with the Velar. Even the Evoque has taken on this look. The slim tail lights at the rear are now in sync with those on the Evoque and Velar.

I wouldn't complain about the looks. Will be interesting to see what the SVR variant looks like.

2023 Range Rover Sport revealed: It’s on sale soon – set to be in showrooms this September.

Land Rover has unveiled the 2023 Range Rover Sport and announced that the Porsche Cayenne rival will get an all-electric variant in 2024, becoming the brand’s first ever EV.
But even without the electric version in its lineup from launch the Sport makes big advances over its predecessor with a new BMW-derived 4.4-liter V8 and a choice of two PHEV powertrains that can take you up to 70 miles (113 km) on electric power.

Two plug-in hybrid versions, with up to 503bhp and 700Nm of torque, combine a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine and 38.2kWh battery to give a best 0-60mph times of 5.4 seconds and an all-electric range of up to 70 miles.
There will also be one petrol and two diesel six-cylinder options, both featuring 48v mild-hybrid tech, plus a 4.4-litre V8 with 523bhp and a 0-60mph time of just 4.3 seconds.
Inside, passengers are treated to increased legroom, available 22-way adjustable massage seats, an advanced air purification system, optional 1,430 W, 29-speaker Meridian hifi, active noise cancellation and 13.7 in digital instrument cluster. Much of the SUV’s many gadgets are controlled though the 13.1 in curved Pivo Pro touchscreen, though Land Rover’s decision to fit Amazon Alexa means the voice control should actually work better than it does in many cars.

























Every engine drives all four wheels through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, though the Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system is able to decouple the front axle to improve efficiency when it senses there’s enough grip to get by with two-wheel drive.

Glad they stuck with keeping the looks similar to the outgoing version, while taking a simplistic design approach. Personally, I am not a huge fan of the rear design, thankfully it is not polarising and am sure it will grow on me with time.
