Biden Wants to Electrify the Beast.



After President Biden's eventful day with the Ford F-150 Lightning, a reporter asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, if President Biden will electrify the White House vehicle fleet, including the presidential limo known as "the Beast."

She said: "That's certainly something the President has talked about and is an objective for him."

Sound immature to develop R&D to electrify a car of which only 3 or 4 will ever be made. Besides the 'Beast' is a very heavy car with it's defense and protective mechanisms and the last thing an electric car needs is additional weight. EVs are heavy by default, but they wont perform the same (range & acceleration) if they have to bear a behemoth structure. At the best, the white house can use electric cars for duty within D.C and not for deployment outside.

President Biden is eagerly awaiting the Corvette C8’s electrified evolution that is a plug-in hybrid. He lamented that the Secret Service doesn’t let him drive his old C2, that he’s looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the upcoming C8 e-Ray electric Corvette, and that he expects to be first in line to purchase one. A Chevrolet spokesman says the company has not promised the future model to anyone. Either way, Biden cannot drive his own car while president for security reasons. Perhaps after he leaves office?
