KIA going the BMW way with the new Sportage Ace's Grille

The 2021 Sportage Ace features a gargantuan gloss black tiger-nose grille that connects seamlessly to the headlights.

In addition, there is a piece of silver trim that flows over the top of the grille and the headlights.
Speaking of the lights, they look unlike any other current Kia model and include sharp daytime running lights and are a very intriguing shape with protruding turn signals.

The example pictured is a GT Line variant and also includes an orange front splitter.

Taillights seemingly inspired by those of the Telluride and Sorento, as well as a large Sportage badge, and a rear bumper with an orange accent, diffuser and dual tailpipes.

Kia has yet to release interior photos of the updated SUV.

Building on the success of the Seltos and Sonet , will KIA launch the SPORTAGE in India to strengthen its image ?

This car, IMHO, looks meh. If the Toyota Fortuner had a baby with the TaTa Sumo, that would be the front of this thing. Forget about the grille.The rear is reminiscent of the Rolls Royce Cullinan, strong design cues taken.



And what on earth are those ugly tyres? Forget the rims, the outlandish tyres themselves make me not want Kia to launch this car in this country (not like we'd get A/T tyres anyway).

Kia is gearing up to unwrap the 2022 Sportage in the coming months and has officially previewed its design for the first time





Inside, the Sportage will ditch its current two-screen set-up in favour of an expansive, curved digital display that spans most of the dashboard.



The Sportage will adopt an all-new design, with the latest images suggesting the brand's new EV6 electric flagship will have some influence on the styling.

The fifth-generation model finally makes its global design debut.

Kia has finally revealed the 2022 Sportage.

The fully-revamped model has now entered its fifth generation, debuting globally with its all-new design using the automaker's new design philosophy called "Opposites United," which initially debuted with the Kia EV6.

Love it, absolutely smashed out of the park, this is good design to me, being daring and changing how cars have always looked, and it has a deeply evolved sense of proportions and aesthetics as well, that interior is a place I could live in.

The new Tucson and Sportage are a killer design combo, heard they are selling extremely well these days in the Europe and American markets and the current design updates should only improve the numbers. Opposites United and Sensuous Sportiness.

Overdone Korean design. Kia unfortunately seems to be going the Hyundai route with some of their models, the Sportage being the latest example. Hyundai messed up their stable of clean designs with quite hideous ones over the years. Kia seems to be following suit. way too many cuts and creases and kinks, hardly any clean proportionate lines and bordering on Chinese-ish design language. The rear end is slightly more palatable, but the front is much too overdone. The alloys are equally horrible.

Though the earlier Sportage was also an average design, but this is a clear instance of Kia trying to do too much in one evolution. Not my cup of tea at all.

I absolutely detest these new designs from Kia , death by a thousand cuts is what I can think of. I hated when Hyundai butchered the look of i20 and now this.

I love the design of fourth generation Sportage but I hate the looks of new one (fifth generation). It’s over styled according to me. I loved the latest versions of all the models of Kia (Rio, Soul, Stinger, Forte, K5, Carnival, Telluride, Sorento, Seltos) but design of new Sportage is not of my liking.

A bit quirky, but still an excellent design for a modern-day car.

But, how does KIA manage to pull out such beautiful designs, and its bigger cousin HYUNDAI spoils everything it touches? Any idea?

What's with this trend of ever-increasing grill sizes? This Sportage's grill covers almost the entire width of the car. Same case with its sibling, Tucson. That said, I wouldn't call it ugly though. There is a certain coherence and balance to the overall design.

Any news on when this Sportage/Tucson duo will come to our shores? If Hyundai/Kia can make it happen by 2023, it will serve as a nice option for people upgrading from today's compact SUVs.
