Spy images of the updated Land Rover Discovery have surfaced online.



The new Discovery is likely to receive minor exterior updates including revised headlights, tail lamps and reworked bumpers. The SUV could also get upgraded equipment.



The new Discovery is expected to be offered with 4 and 6-cylinder diesel engine options. Reports suggest that Land Rover might also offer a P400e plug-in hybrid variant powered by the 4-cylinder engine similar to the one available in the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.



In India, the Discovery is available with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine which produces 296 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 400 Nm @ 1,500-4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission and has all-wheel drive.

I see that the Land Rover website has quietly removed two models from it, viz. the land rover range rover and land rover range rover sports, may be poor sales , i guess, it was seen on their site a month back. They have the Discovery Sports, Range Rover Evogue, Defender, Range Rover Velar and Discovery for sale.

Land Rover Discovery facelift revealed. All engines except the base petrol, get a 48V mild-hybrid setup. It will be available in the S, SE and HSE trim levels, along with the sporty R-Dynamic pack.

Land Rover has significantly overhauled the powertrain line-up of the 2021 Discovery. While the outgoing model featured a range of 2.0-litre, four-cylinder and 3.0-litre V6 petrol and diesel engines, the updated SUV packs in the latest generation of JLR's Ingenium powertrains, with an increased focus on hybridisation.

The sole 2.0-litre, four-cylinder mill in the range is now the 300hp P300 petrol. Then, there’s a pair of 3.0-litre, in-line six-cylinder engines; the petrol puts out 360hp (P360), while the diesel is offered in two states of tune – 249hp (D250) and 300hp (D300). Except the lower powered petrol, all drivetrains feature 48V mild-hybrid tech to improve fuel efficiency.

An 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and all-wheel-drive system are standard across the range.

Why couldn't they fix the off centre number plate housing with this facelift?! IMO it spoils the overall design in the name of heritage.

Totally agree. If there is one design aspect that stands out as a glaring eyesore on this car, that's the one.
