The best Car Podcasts to listen to

In these testing times when all things automotive in the world has come to a grinding halt, where there are no new launches, no new sizzling track tests and reviews, listening to podcasts are something that has been an immense lifesaver for me to get that regular auto fix. Honestly I have no idea why I haven't been doing this much much earlier.

Here I am going to be listing some of my favorite car podcasts that I love to listen to and have subscribed to.

#5.Everyday Driver Podcast.

The Everyday driver podcast is hosted by Todd Deeken and Paul Schmucker. This is no nonsense podcast follows in the footsteps of the Car show hosted by Todd and Paul of the same moniker. This is a mature show hosted by two experienced hosts, who give good, useful consumer advice and their personal takes on both used and new cars, including personal long term reviews of cars they own.

#4. Carfection: For the Love of cars

This podcast is hosted by Drew Stearne and Henry Catchpole who also are the presenters of the Carfection youtube channel. Safe to say, if you're a regular at browsing car videos on YouTube, you must have seen several of Henry's many incredible reviews from different outlets like Evo magazine. Drew regularly does top notch reviews on Carfection channels as well and is a familiar face for the regular you tube car surfer. This podcast differs from the Everyday driver podcast in that it does not give as much practical consumer advice stuff but instead focuses more on the driving aspect. Henry having driven to the limit and reviewed many incredible cars, even the likes of the Mclaren F1 has much to offer.

#3. The Smoking Tire Podcast

The best Car Podcasts to listen to-maxresdefault.jpg

The Smoking Tire podcast is hosted by Matt Farah and Zack Klapman. Matt Farah is a very familiar face to all of us who used to wait eagerly for regular uploads from "The Drive" channel when it used to be free. Matt hosted the show "tuned" in that channel, reviewing modified and tuned cars made by different tuner companies. Matt and Zack now hosts "The Smoking Tire", the youtube channel that the podcast is based on and where he does his one takes, where he drives both new press cars and modified cars of private owners. Matt has a lot of knowledge when it comes to tuned cars, since he has driven a lot of them, something that is unique in this list. He is a very good driver and has useful tips to give about driving and setting up cars. What makes this podcast so much fun is Matt and Zacks's humorous takes on things and because of that I do have to say that this show is a bit less mature and there are lots of childish swearing and insults involved. So its best not to play it loud around prude family members.

Here are some good podcasts that you should listen to from this podcast.

#2 The Collecting Cars Podcast

The best Car Podcasts to listen to-download.jpeg

The Collecting Cars podcast is hosted by Chris Harris and Edward Lovett. Chris Harris is that guy who can talk about a car, how it drives with delicious details while he is sideways at 100 going around the corner. He has done stunning reviews as a motoring journalist with EVO magazine and as the host of his own show Chris Harris on cars on The Drive Channel. Chris also professionally races cars now and then. Oh he is also the new Top Gear presenter. What to say about Chris? Imagine James May cross bred with Tiff Needell but with slightly browner skin tone. So we get both the OCD levels of car nerdness with the insane amount of driving skills and the experience that comes along with it. This podcast is every bit as good as it sounds then.

Here are some great podcasts that you should listen to from the collecting cars podcast:

#1. The Carmudgeon Show

Yes. I know what you all are thinking. "Wow, Chris Harris is rated second to someone in a list about cars ? Who can possibly be more of a car nerd and has talent to top Chris Harris? The answer is Jason Cammisa and Derek Tam-Scott.
The show they host is "The Carmudgeon Show". The name is a play on the word Curmudgeon, meaning a grumpy old man.

Jason Cammisa is basically Ryan Reynolds of the auto journo world. He might not be as good as a driver as Chris Harris but his brash infectious personality is what makes his show a cut above everyone else's. His car reviews on Motor Trend are legendary. He has since left MT and is now doing gigs for a venture called ISSIMI and he also writes for Road and Track. Derek Tam-Scott is his male model looking charming curmudgeon sidekick. The reason the show is called Carmudgeon show is because both the hosts are like old grumpy car guys who constantly complain about how all new cars are losing their feel and how everything was so much better in the 60's and their various hilarious takes on the same. I have been lucky enough to start listening to the show from the first episode onwards and there has never been a dull episode or a dull moment in any of the episodes. If you love cars this podcast is a must hear and you should be subscribed to it ASAP.

Here are some cracking episodes you should be listening to.

Re: The best Car Podcasts to listen to

Although Vinwiki doesn't qualify entirely as a podcast, you guys must check out their YouTube page!
They have 10-15 minute videos where individuals come and talk about their interesting car stories.

Re: The best Car Podcasts to listen to

Any fans here of NPR’s Car Talk? Hosted by 2 brothers Tom and Ray (Click and Clack), it was a hilarious show with good wholesome jokes. You didn’t even have to be a car person to enjoy it. Used to listen to it to make my long drives to grad school bearable. Good times.

Re: The best Car Podcasts to listen to

Check out Tempest, its a podcast series that tells the story of cars and the special connections that their owners have with them.
Very different from the usual automobile podcast format and something that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Re: The best Car Podcasts to listen to

Salomondrin's LTACY podcast was my absolute favourite for college commute! I haven't listened to any other ones yet, but I want to start my own automotive one soon. I know Drivetribe has a podcast. I wonder if The Trio are there on it? Because that sounds perfect!

The marketing material and RSS feed connections for mine are already in place, but hosting one takes enough time so having another is a bit hard to fit in. Figuring that out now!

This has actually given me a good idea. Perhaps I should create a thread on how to create your own podcast from scratch based on my experience running one for nearly one year now. It might help a lot of users start podcasts, either automotive related or in other areas of interest.

I hope the mods approve of it provided it's in the right section?

Hit it Pedro! Didn't know a lot of people watch his channel here. Not the last word in Automotive intel, but entertaining nonetheless.

Haha! I think quite a lot of people do. He gained a TON of traction thanks to his Huayra videos initially and then because of his Senna incident. I remember seeing a few mentions of his videos and such on some threads here.

I love his LTACY and storytime style videos that he's making these days. I wonder if he'll plan out another podcast with new faces. IMO his content is a breath of fresh air in the auto world.
