Re: Mahindra loses Roxor (Jeep lookalike) case in US

Roxor started off with a lot of noise and boasting about Jeep connection, war connection, heritage, etc. Many Americans who reviewed it loved them. It was all rosy until Jeep sued Mahindra and now the design looks like a donkey.

Now this is a national embarrassment. An Indian car company no different than Chinese - copying other company's intellectual properties. Not only that, just look at the latest Roxor. The design looks pathetic.

I had posted this picture in a fb group and I got a message from Mahindra NA legal team asking me to delete it as it is not "released to the public yet".
Frankly speaking I am okay with the design. It's a farm/ off-road vehicle and it would look good with beefy tires and bumpers.

but also

Mahindra should be getting a thumbs down, especially the legal folk who thought this was a good idea to start with - the premise that to try to sell a "redesigned" almost "knock-off" based on an earlier licensed product is worthy of an attempt.

This "Chaltha hai" attitude is what causes a mockery of indian frugal innovation aka Jugaad.

How about Mahindra using this grille for the Roxor ? Or would the other country object to it ?

It's official.

Everything remains the same as before except the front clip. And a couple of grands rise in base MSRP.

Re: Mahindra loses Roxor (Jeep lookalike) case in US

I always thought the redesign rendering that was floating around at the heat of the issue was a joke. Alas the worst came true. This is a Half-Posterior attempt at a as cheap as possible built to purpose redesign.
I'm sure the after market segment will find a niche to 'correct' the ugliness and make it look like a Jeep again.

Re: 2022 Roxor unveiled

A glimpse of what's in store from Roxor aftermarket. Mockup front end based on 70's J10 by OTR fabs.
