The updated 2020 version of the Mahindra ROXOR with the new face has been previewed at the 2019 SEMA Motor Show as two customised concepts. Looks like Mahindra has decided to backout from using the Jeep trademark grille, after FCA's Trade Dress claim was accepted and there was a remark of violation of Section 337 by MENA in designing the Roxor.

ROXOR offers the greatest customization possibilities from the factory of any off-road work/play vehicle. New concepts will be on display at two ROXOR displays – one inside and one outside – including The Marshal and the Coastal Cruiser dream concepts. The Marshal is a four-wheel-drive ROXOR with a twist on the yesteryear street rod taken to a variety of off-road terrains. The Coastal Cruiser ROXOR incorporates the finest woodworking with Detroit steel and a couple of pucks of surf wax.

“As ROXOR readies for the new model year 2020, the company is launching new model changes to the ROXOR that will appeal to the diverse customer base,” said Vice President of Marketing for Mahindra Automotive North America, Rich Ansell. “SEMA is the perfect venue to show the endless possibilities the ROXOR offers to both the off-road enthusiasts and the job-site focused work-force. We are charging into 2020 with momentum and more fresh ideas. Keep an eye on ROXOR.”

For model year 2020, dealers and customers can expect to see new optional features and accessories, an all-new grille design, and four new standard color options with over 450 custom color options available.

The legal battle between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Mahindra is heating up as Administrative Law Judge Cameron Elliot has determined the Mahindra Roxor infringes on the look of Jeep vehicles.

FCA added, “The ALJ has determined Mahindra violated 19 U.S.C. Section 1337 and that an order excluding infringing vehicles and components from entry into the U.S. is appropriate. In addition, the ALJ has also determined that a cease-and-desist order is appropriate preventing Mahindra from selling any vehicles already in the U.S.”

It now looks like the Toyota FJ40 from the front! What is the use of owning a design firm which used to design Ferraris, Lancia, Alfas etc and then release such design copies? Not doubting the capability of the vehicle though.

Those are some stunning visuals. It looks sexier than before now. Especially with the soft top and 4 seats. Website says it even gets an automatic.

On another note, It is ironic that both TML and M&M have unique versions of vehicles that they sell abroad but will not bring to India. Similarly Tata Xenon had an automatic 4x4 in some regions. But they never sold it in India.
