Is VW NIVUS India bound, replacing the Polo in 2022 ? Now spied in a 1.0 turbo engine of 105 hp and manual gearbox.

the engine is called 170 TSI, the 1.0 turbo with direct injection version with 105 hp and 16.8 kgfm of torque. The gearbox, in turn, is the five-speed manual

The 1.0 turbo most used around here is the 200 TSI, with 128 hp and 20.4 kgfm, present in Polo, Virtus and T-Cross, in addition to Nivus itself

Volkswagen even confirms that it even created a Nivus Comfortline 200 TSI with a six-speed manual gearbox, but has given up on launching it.

With the 170 TSI engine, the Nivus could test a future replacement of the 1.6 engine in some (or some) of these markets

VW Nivus 2022 in Azul Biscay color at the request of customers:

Color until then was exclusive of the GTS line, was requested by customers of the SUV.

Volkswagen introduced Azul Biscay as the exclusive color of the Polo and Virtus GTS. Metallic, caught the attention and was quite requested by owners of other models of the brand, mainly for the lack of shades beyond the classic silver, white, black and gray. And for Nivus, the brand has fulfilled requests and adopted Azul Biscay as the main novelty of the 2022 line.

Blue Biscay is available in the VW Nivus 2022 in the Comfortline and Highline versions for an additional $1,585

In the Highline version, it can be combined with the Ninja Black ceiling, but costs $3,365 because of the so-called Bicolor Pack.

After seeing all the recent LatinNCAP VW crash tests of cars based on MQB A0 platform, I am pretty confident that the India 2.0 cars can score 5 stars in GNCAP easily!

It's best to wait because the Nivus is based on MQB-A0 architecture (on which many Latin and Euro NCAP five star cars have been built in the past, eg. Polo, T-Cross) while the VAG 2.0 project cars are based on newer MQB-A0 IN architecture.

There is however an Easter egg at 0:36 in the latest Latin NCAP presentation that indicates the GNCAP might be testing the new MQB A0-IN Virtus for either Mexico or India

I know that the 2.0 cars are based on MQB A0 IN platform. But they wouldn't have compromised the platform much, at least I hope so.
