Re: USA: Hyundai to develop a Pickup Truck

The Santa Cruz is supposed to have a 3ft bed. That is the most illogical product development strategy I've ever heard of. Most Americans can barely fit their mountain bikes in that space, forget wood from your local home improvement store.

A lot has to do with towing - an owner may consider factors like:
1. Towing capacity
2. Trailer brakes/electricity controls
3. Engine braking
4. Torque

True, but there are so many options and variants to choose even with the above factors considered, I meant brand wise. There are so many models now apart from the F-series, Silverado, Tacoma etc. And more being added every year. In India, pick-ups have 8 ft+ bed primarily to incorporate the 8 ft ply sheets etc. But options are limited as the Bolero Pik-Up dominates even more than the F-series in the US!

And now there will be a completely different fuel line added to the market-BEV pick-ups! I believe the R1T is scheduled for launch later this year, which Ford will adapt in its pick-up line seeing as it has invested in Rivian (perhaps a Lincoln branded pick-up to rival the Cybertruck?).
