Indonesia: 2nd-gen Toyota Rush images leaked

Images of the second-generation Toyota Rush have surfaced the internet ahead of its launch later this month. The Toyota Rush, along with its badge-engineered twin, the Daihatsu Terios are sold in south-east Asian countries.

The 2018 Toyota Rush features a 4-slat chrome grille up front with the Toyota logo in the centre. The wraparound headlights are reportedly bi-beam LED multi-reflector units with LED DRLs. The front bumper houses circular fog lamps and has an integrated scuff plate while the ORVMs have integrated turn signals. Moving to the side, the new model gets plastic cladding around the wheel arches and door sills, which continues over the rear bumper. The rear features a roof spoiler and wraparound tail lights. A TRD Sportivo variant is also likely to be offered. In addition to TRD Sportivo badges on the rear doors, the SUV also gets 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, while lower variants will likely get 16-inch wheels.

The second-gen SUV will reportedly come with a soft-touch dashboard equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and automatic climate control on select variants. Other features might include engine start/stop, ABS, EBD, brake assist, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, six airbags, and a 360-degree camera.

Reports suggest that the 2018 Toyota Rush will get a new Dual VVT-i engine to replace the 1.5L petrol unit from the previous generation. There has been no official word regarding the launch of the 2018 Toyota Rush in India yet.

Looks decent. If priced well, it can be a good alternative in compact SUV segment.

Given their reluctance to introduce a good C segment sedan (Read Toyota Vios), I highly doubt they will launch this in India . Even if they introduce this, expect the prices to start above 10 lakhs.

Look at Etios and Liva. Very competent product with good engines. They are selling it without any major updates for the past 6 years. I would choose the
petrol Etios for my parents if they move the instrument console alone from center of the dash to the driver side. For 9 lakhs budget, I am getting a safe car with refined petrol motor and very good ASS.

But given the success enjoyed by Duster and then by Creta, this SUV would bring in numbers if priced properly and loaded with features.

Re: Indonesia: 2nd-gen Toyota Rush images leaked

What happened to the original Toyota Rush design? Isn't this car supposed to be more SUV looking? This seems more of a Van type shape , close to the Honda Brio IMHO.

I was really looking forward to the Toyota Rush launch in India based on its previous looking model with the taller stance and rear mounted spare wheel, but i guess such awkward shapes are the future.

First they ruined the shape of the original masculine Fortuner and now its the turn of Toyota rush.RIP design, RIP enthusiasm, RIP aspirations.

My namesake .

How ironical that Toyota has such good products in their global portfolio, but it refuses to launch them here :. Other than the Innova, Fortuner & Corolla, nothing else sells here. The "Big T" is primarily a maker of utility vehicles in India.

If Toyota wanted, it could easily become a close No.3 behind Hyundai. All it would take are good monocoque SUVs, hatchbacks & sedans priced 10 lakhs or lower. How difficult is it to cut-copy-paste from their international portfolio?

Rush has transformed into a MUV from a compact SUV.

And doesn't it look so much like a Honda now? That front end, the rear and even the alloy wheels!

Re: Indonesia: 2nd-gen Toyota Rush images leaked

Some really good spec as standard across variants in Indonesia.
6 Airbags
ABS, Stability Control, Hill Start Assist
LED lights

And the best bit, Rear Wheel Drive + 7 seats.

Will make a lot of sense for our market. Its actually a Daihatsu Terios. So, shouldn't get priced out of the segment. But you never know with the usual Toyota premium for India.

Where did that nice compact SUV design vanish ? As others mentioned it looks more like an MUV now! The original design may have struggled a bit in India for sales. They would have had to make it a bit more spacious.

Re: Indonesia: 2nd-gen Toyota Rush images leaked

Despite looking like BR-V/ MPV, the Indonesian press calls it the mini-Fortuner. Given the sales figures for Fortuner and Innova in India, I am sure the product will do well in India (provided Toyota has plans to launch the same in India) although it may come with Petrol option only.

Re: Indonesia: 2nd-gen Toyota Rush images leaked

This doesn't look like a Toyota at all. Kodiaq/Karoq headlamps, Honda MPV side and rear profile, Honda wheels, Brio/Amaze Steering wheel, 7 seater Mobilio interior. Only partly has the Fortuner borrowed stance (in terms of ground clearance) when viewed from certain angles.
