Many of you out there must be familiar with Special Vehicle Operations (SVO). The term which has been associated with different companies in the past. At Jaguar Land Rover's SVO, the team might have had different demands from many of its customers w.r.t performance, luxury, etc. This might be the first time that they came around to meet the specific needs of a renowned chef - Jamie Oliver. With a 17-year television and publishing career behind him, Jamie's imagination of a car in which you can cook needed more than just simple accessories.

The vehicle of choice needed to be a family car which made the Discovery a viable contender from the line-up because of the 2,500 L luggage space. Talking about the car, under the hood is a 2.0-litre Sd4 Diesel engine which makes over 237 BHP and 500 Nm of torque. Mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, the claimed 0-60 mph time is 8 seconds.
So, there are many things you can see on the British chef's Discovery. Here are some things that might be of interest -
• The rotisserie - It can be set to 2 speeds - a slower one for the rotisserie and a faster for the pasta maker. The throttle can be used to increase the speed of rotation. This is because it is powered by an electric motor controlled by the engine speed. It extends to 1.6 m when deployed and holds up to 3 average chickens or 1 turkey / leg of lamb / small piglet.
• Butter churners / Ice-cream making wheels
The momentum of the wheel is used to churn the butter which is stored in the compartments on the side. A counterweight holds the butter container in place and a paddle is connected to the wheel nuts. Churn the butter and store in the on board fridge! For ice cream, you will have to add freezer coolant before churning. There are 3 butter churns and 1 churner for the ice cream - 5 litres each.
• A 4.7 litre capacity slow cooker is mounted on the engine.
• Olive Oil & Vinegar Dispenser of 500ml each can be accessed via indicator stalk dispensers mounted in tailgate.
• Fold and slide out kitchen worktop which is 1.1 metres wide & 1.5 metres tall, 2 X gas hobs & sink
• Fold out 40” flat screen TV with connectivity which is integrated in slide out worktop area
• Salt & Pepper Grinder is similar to the original gear selector from the car
• Integrated 2-slice toaster mounted on the centre console
• Behind climate control, you will find the jam store with 3 pots & 1 knife
• Land Rover BBQ inspired by front grille. This is a dual folding grill to be mounted on foldable metal table.
• A living herb garden which accommodates 8 herb plants near the right side rear window.
• A spice rack which has 11 spice pots on the rear left window.
