The EU is one the way to ban the sale of new ICE vehicles by 2035. Essentially this has been approved by the EU now. Although some further details on a case by case (i.e. country) will need to be worked out.

In my home country, the Netherlands, the goal is to ban ICE vehicle sales from 2030 onwards. That is just 8 years away.
