2018 Jeep Cherokee spotted testing in USA Jeep appears to have started working on a mid-cycle refresh of the Cherokee SUV, as heavily camouflaged test mules of the same have recently been spotted testing in Detroit, US.
The spotted model has been disguised under heavy camouflage, which manages to hide major design updates made to the SUV. The 2018 Cherokee is expected to come with a redesigned front grille, a new pair of headlamps with DRLs, tweaked front and rear bumpers and minor changes on the taillights.
Reports suggest that a 9-speed automatic gearbox might be introduced in the new Cherokee. This will be the same transmission unit that is found in the Renegade and Compass. Additionally, a new top-end Cherokee Trailhawk version might also be introduced, which will likely be powered by an updated iteration of the existing 3.2-litre V6 engine.
Jeep is expected to showcase the new Cherokee at the Los Angeles Auto Show in December this year, though an online reveal can take place a few weeks prior to the show.
