Suzuki Motor corporation is rumored to revive the Suzuki Cappuccino- a sports car which earlier launched in 1991, primarily developed for the Japanese market and later exported to Europe.

Now Suzuki is all set to launch the new sports car for launch in autumn 2018 - a 4WD convertible.

A a platform base of the new Alto (Ha36 type) of the open sports model of the mini-vehicle, and the model name is not decided with Cappuccino, but is currently under development.

The new open sports car is not fr-drive system, but the Alto lightweight platform FF-based 4WD drive system, the engine is the same 0.66-liter series three-cylinder DOHC turbo engine (R06a type) 36s type works. The engine output is the highest output 64 in the range of self-regulation, maximum torque 10.2 kgf. M. The transmission is set to 5MT/5AGS.

Because the new alto platform is used, the first cappuccino is super-lightweight (it becomes about 700kg weight) and has no roof top and a roll was suppressed. It is expected to be a finish to enjoy a sporty run, but it is also very fun to see how the 4WD will behave.

Because it is developed in a shared platform, the price of the vehicle sales is set to be cheap, and the forecast sales price is 1,600,000 yen ~ 2,100,000 yen.

The rival Honda S660 (selling price 1,980,000 yen-2380000 yen) and Daihatsukopen robes & Cero (sales price: 1852200 yen ~ 2127600 yen) are expected to be lower than the price.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if this news is true, since such niche cars are usually indulgences of large companies. Suzuki's R&D is very weak in terms of where the other biggies are (that's why they tied up with Toyota).

That said, it'll be nice to see Suzuki having fun for a change. With Maruti on a roll, who knows - we can dream about it being launched here as a brand building exercise. Such small, lightweight roadsters are very enjoyable to drive + cheap to buy. The Mazda Miata pretty much defined the segment.

Seeing a cheap Maruti roadster enter our market would truly be amazing. I don't know if the market exists for it, or maybe I could be wrong and it could sell like a hot cake. But it would probably just give them something to call a halo car probably, and maybe even drive more people into the showrooms if they were to have them on display.

I remember seeing this sometime around 1997-2000. Mandovi Motors, Mangalore, had an exhibition of "Up-coming cars" where this was the star exhibit. Small, cute and very desirable in red. Hope to see it soon on Indian roads.

The 600cc Turbo is a popular option in the Japanese market due to tax benefits.

If it ever makes it to our market (I suspect, but this would be one car that can take NEXA concept to new levels!), we should be getting the K10 or the boosterjet minimum.

Suzuki Misano: a bit of a car, a bit of a motorcycle.

The Suzuki Misano is an electric concept car born from the meeting of the European Institute of Design with Suzuki.

It is the result of the thesis of the twenty-four students of the Master in Transportation Design of IED Torino, of the academic year 2019-20, and was presented today to the press. It will be exhibited at MAUTO, National Automobile Museum of Turin, from Saturday 15 May to Sunday 6 June 2021.

It is a small boat (a car without a roof or windshield) characterized by clean and smooth lines of compact size: length 400 cm, width 175, height 100, with a pitch of 260 cm. The front has arrow-shaped headlights integrated into a grid; configuration that repeats itself in the rear of the vehicle. The door is only one and is equipped with a glass panel, which makes it "transparent", thus allowing the driver to feel even closer to the road.

Singular the placement of the two seats, which, as on motorcycles, in the Suzuki Misano are in tandem (one after the other), both positioned on the left side of the car. The staggered placement also leaves room for the battery pack and a trunk. The cockpit is open and there is no capote. In fact, there is only a small windshield that in the form resembles the dome of a motorcycle. The driver will find himself clutching in his hands not a classic steering wheel but a cloche. This is also a clear reference to the world of two wheels.

Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo Concept is a Roadster with a Hybrid Hayabusa engine.













With its latest Vision Gran Turismo concept created for the popular game merging the best of both worlds. The digital concept is a lightweight all-wheel-drive roadster, making use of a Hayabusa engine in combination with a trio of electric motors.

Starting with the design, the Suzuki Vision GT looks like a roofless Swift on steroids, coming with a fully exposed two-seater cabin and a sculpted body. Suzuki says designers were also inspired by the Cappuccino, but setting aside the body style, there is little in common between the two.

Inside, the dashboard has a pretty simple layout with screens for the mirror-replacing cameras on both sides of the yoke steering wheel. The latter integrates the Start/Stop and hazard lights buttons, gearshift paddles, and a bunch of unmarked controls. The driver has access to a transparent digital instrument cluster and nothing else, since you won’t be needing infotainment features in such a vehicle.

Moving on to the powertrain, this is probably the best part of the concept. The Hayabusa-sourced 1,340cc four-cylinder petrol engine is mounted behind the cabin, working together with a trio of electric motors – two at the front and one at the rear. As a result, the combined output is 426 hp (318 kW / 432 PS) and a healthy 610 Nm (450 lb-ft) of torque.

These figures may not sound that impressive compared to other Vision GT projects, but we’re sure that the screaming Hayabusa engine will make everything more pleasant. Also, bear in mind that thanks to the adoption of racing technology, Suzuki’s concept weighs only 970 kg.

The Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo is not destined for production and will remain in the digital world.

Toyota -Daihatsu- Suzuki's 1L Midship Sports (concept car, scheduled to appear in 2025)

The Midship Sport, which is jointly developed by Toyota, Daihatsu and Suzuki, is equipped with a 1L turbo on the Yaris' GA-B platform. I would like to expect it to appear at a price in the 2 million yen range!

Midship Sports, a collaboration between Toyota, Suzuki, and Daihatsu, will make maximum use of Suzuki and Daihatsu's expertise in "making small cars" based on Toyota's TNGA knowledge.

The platform will be newly developed for midships while taking advantage of the front suspension of the Yaris' GA-B.

Suzuki is in charge of the development of the engine, and it is likely that it will be a mild hybrid that combines a motor of about 10 ps with improvements based on the 996cc, straight-3DOHC turbo of the K5C type installed in the Hustler and other vehicles.

And with the "DRESS-FORMATION" that Daihatsu has adopted in Copen, each of the three companies will wear a body of their original design, which is groundbreaking.

The price is expected to be 220.280 million Yen.

Suzuki's new "Cappuccino" has an aggressive mask & double displacement, in new rendering!

Suzuki's mini 2-door open sports car "Cappuccino" is back! The news broke once in the summer of 2024, and the scoop team got the information again. It is noteworthy that the body size will be expanded from a mini car standard to a regular car (a small car under the Road Traffic Law).

The next generation, created from the information obtained, is equipped with sharp LED daytime running lights with a strong presence on the front end and headlights with built-in double projectors, and has a fairly aggressive finish. In addition, we predicted a simple two-seater silhouette with a door character line that creates a sporty feel, and a wheel arch design that gives a sense of overhang to the large-diameter tires.

The body size of the next model will be 3,895 mm long, 1,695 mm wide, 1,260 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,410 mm. Thanks to the enlargement, the driving will be more powerful and the body rigidity will be enhanced. Inside the cabin, a fully digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment display are also expected.

The drive layout is FR. The powertrain at the front is a 1.3-liter inline three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with a larger displacement than the light standard 660cc. The maximum output will be increased from 64 ps in the mini standard to 120 ps, almost doubling. There is also information that it is equipped with a 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder, which is more powerful than the 1.3-liter inline 3-cylinder. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic transmission, but a manual transmission is also expected.
