Audi confirms Q4 for 2019

The small SUV will be part of a growing line-up of style-led SUVs in the group.

It is scheduled to follow the Q6 and Q8 into showrooms in 2019.

Slotted between the Q3 and Q5, the Q4 will compete the BMW X2 , Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes-Benz GLA.

it is speculated that the Q4’s overall length will be at least 4500mm — about 110mm longer than today’s Q3.

The SUV will be inspired by the Audi TT Offroad concept from 2014 and will feature a plug-in electric powertrain.

Is it just me or does any one else also feel that this one looks like a BIG VW Beetle from the angle in which it is clicked? Not that the Beetle is ugly looking but that's the first thing that came to my mind!

+1

It looks like someone took a TT and expanded it all angles, raised it, flattened the back and front a bit, and came up with this.
Why would someone need a TT SUV?
The TT and the new beetle have a bit of resemblance on the back side profile.

Re: Audi confirms Q4 for 2019

Audi officially confirms the arrival of its new Q's - the flagship SUV Q8 and its CUV Q4!

From the press release:

Quote:
With the Audi Q8, the brand will open up a new segment for its top-end models. The premium SUV in a coupe style combines great spaciousness with emotive design and offers the latest technologies in assistance and infotainment systems. Audi will produce the model in Bratislava as of 2018. The Audi Q7 has already been produced at the Slovakian plant since 2005. Meanwhile, the second generation of the large SUV is in production there, as an S version and as the Q7 e-tron plug-in hybrid.

In 2019, production of the Audi Q4 will start at Audi Hungaria in Győr. With this model, the brand is entering the segment of compact utility vehicles (CUVs). The very sporty Audi Q4 with its typical coupe-style silhouette will be positioned between the Audi Q3 and Q5. And as of 2018, Audi Hungaria will also be responsible for production of the Audi Q3 compact SUV, which until then will continue to be produced in Martorell, Spain.

Re: Audi confirms Q4 for 2019

Aud's Q4 is promised to be different from all of the other Q SUV's. Will be looking like a coupe version of Q3.

In 2019, the “Q” family will be extended yet again to include the first-ever Q4.

the coupe-SUV’s design has been finalized and there’s one feature that will provide it with a distinct visual identity compared to the other high-riding models carrying the Four Rings.

Audi Q4 E-tron electric SUV revealed
Power 205bhp, Torque 310nm, Range 450Km, Launch 2020

Audi has unveiled its new Q4 E-tron, a new all-electric SUV that will slot below the full-size E-tron, at the ongoing Geneva motor show. Expected to be introduced in international markets by 2020, the Q4 E-tron is Audi’s fifth EV.

Quote:

The special ‘Solar Sky’ paint scheme, which makes its debut on this concept, has been developed specifically to reflect a short-wave fraction of sunlight to ‘significantly’ reduce heat build up on the body and in the cabin.

Powering the Audi Q4 E-tron is a synchronous electric motor that sends output to the rear axle most of the time; this motor makes 205hp and 310Nm of torque. There’s also a second, smaller electric motor powering the front wheels – the total system output is 306hp - around 100hp less than the full-size E-tron.

The 82kWh battery is mounted under the vehicle floor, and can be charged at a maximum of 125kWh. Doing so would result in an 80 percent charge in 30 minutes. The total range is said to be 450km on the WLTP cycle.
