McLaren has revealed the second-generation of its Super Series cars, with the introduction of the McLaren 720S at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

McLaren claims that the new 720S is lighter and faster than its predecessor. It gets a carbon fibre chassis, called the McLaren Monocage II. The company has also used a range of aluminium alloys in the chassis construction as well as for fabricating some body panels. This provides strength to the car's structure while minimising its weight.

Powering the 720S is a new M480T 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that puts out 710 BHP (720 PS) and 770 Nm of torque while being mated to a 7-speed SSG transmission. McLaren claims that this powertrain setup can accelerate the car from 0-100 km/h in less than 3 seconds, before reaching its top speed of 341 km/h. The automaker also claims that the 720S' braking system is potent enough to bring the car to a halt from 200 km/h in just 4.6 seconds.

McLaren is expected to start global deliveries of the 720S from May 2017. It is priced from £208,600 in UK.

The design looks stunning, aero-dynamic and very clean.
Almost like the McLaren F1.

I wonder what stops them to bring back the center driving position layout. That was one of the highlights of the old F1.

Wow such impressive power figures..but I'm not impressed by the design. There's no 'zing'! I liked the design of MP4-12C.

But 200-0 in just 4.6 seconds. Damn, high risk of getting rear-ended in this car.

Went to Top Gear website and was impressed by their new layout. Even more impressed with the gorgeous photos of the 720S. Thought these ought to be shared here.

Was not a big fan of the car when it originally leaked especially at the loss of the side air scoops and the weird headlights. But then after these photos and this video by Drivetribe i must say i have started liking the car more. It seems a whole lot more friskier than even the 650S.
