We do know, based on our previous experience with this Jimny, that it is a very capable off-road vehicle. Suzuki’s plucky 4×4 has enough ground clearance for gravel roads and Jeep tracks and, with the added benefit of a low range transfer case and a short wheelbase, it can clamber over some of the trickiest obstacles. This vehicle will gladly take you out into nature and onto your next adventure on a budget |
Dunlop (Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd.) announced on August 5 that it will start delivery of the Dunlop GRANDTREK AT20 as a tire for mounting on new cars of the Jimny Sierra, which Suzuki launched on July 20. The tire size delivered is 195/80R15 96S. |
The Gran Trek AT20 to be installed this time has greatly improved quietness by optimizing the tread pattern while maintaining the basic performance of fuel efficiency and wet performance, in addition to the powerful traction that supports the rough road driving ability unique to the Jimny Sierra. The company says that it can handle various road surfaces off-road and ride comfortably in the city. |
the SUV is not easy to come by as there are long waiting periods for the new one while second-hand cars are selling at sky-high prices. If you’re too impatient to wait for the real one, how about getting this adorable wet tissue box shaped like a Suzuki Jimny? |
According to the press release, plans to create this miniature Suzuki Jimny-shaped wet tissue box took over a year to develop. |
But once you’ve run out of tissue, other than just refilling the box with yet more wet tissue, the company that produces the scale model even has other recommendations to use it such as a spice rack or as a plant box. |
As such the realistic 1/12 scale miniature car comes complete with minute details such as the Jimny badging, honeycomb grille, wheels that can roll, as well as a removable bonnet for you to put small items such as keys. |
The mighty Suzuki Jimny went through a series of modifications by the Italian company Z.Mode, transforming it into an adorable turbocharged truck. The special edition will remain a one-off, however, Z.Mode is offering the Suzuki Jimny NEXT pickup conversion in a limited production of 22 units looking nearly as cool as their queen. |
Unlike the majority of pickups, the Jimny Next doesn’t have an elongated rear overhang which means it is as compact as the SUV. The off-road credentials of the 4×4 are further improved thanks to a suspension adding an extra 75 mm (3 inches) of ground clearance, with another 25 mm (1 inch) added from the larger grippy tires. As a result, the approach, breakover, and departure angles are 51°/38°/60°, a significant improvement over the stock 37°/28°/49°. The off-road-focused upgrades include differential protectors, heavy-duty shafts, and a detachable anti-roll bar. |
Suzuki Jimny Next pickup retains the original bodywork besides the rear portion of the roof which has been cut off. The sheet metal is hammered and welded for an OEM-style look, while the rear bed is made of shockproof and UV-resistant ABS/ASA plastic compound. In order to increase rigidity, Z.Mode added an internal structural roll bar behind the seats, connecting it to the rear bulkhead, the floor, and the ladder frame. The pickup can be personalized with a snorkel, a winch, mud flaps, LED bars, stickers, a bonnet net, and a selection of 15-inch wheel designs including steelies, alloys, and beadlock-style rims. |
Under the bonnet, the 1.5-liter engine received a Turbo Kit comprising a Garrett T25 turbine, manifolds, injectors, and an intercooler. As a result, it now produces 170 hp (125 kW / 172 PS) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque, transmitted to all four wheels through the five-speed manual gearbox. This may not sound like much but it represents a significant increase of 63 hp (46 kW / 64 PS) and 132 Nm (97 lb-ft) of torque compared to the stock naturally aspirated unit. Furthermore, the almost doubled torque figure is available at very low revs, making it ideal for off-road use |
The new LST and LST-Up packages have been introduced. Regardless of the package selected we will find modifications for the grille, extensions for the fenders, a ducktail rear spoiler and a straight silencer. In addition, it includes 16-inch CLS TC01 alloy wheels. The specialist, whose "headquarters" is located in Osaka, allows you to opt for a configuration intended for road or, on the contrary, a set-up designed for mountain. The LST package reduces ground clearance. As for the LST-Up package, it allows you to gain a few extra centimeters of height thanks to a suspension kit. Another notable difference is, obviously, the tires. The LST package comes with 195/50 R16 Nankang tyres while the LST-Up package features 245/70 R16 Maxis tyres that offer greater grip and are designed to drive away from the asphalt of the big city. |
A body kit designed especially for the occasion is also included. The LST package features deeper, sportier-looking bumpers. They are connected to large fenders. In addition, it includes extensions for the side skirts. The LST-Up package has bumpers designed for off-road driving as they improve the angles of attack and departure. Additional protective plates have been included in the original bumper mounts. |
