As usual. Pipe dream to get this in India.
Wonder how much it will cost to do a direct import from Dubai or UK or somewhere.
Maruti should seriously bring in those 2000 pieces direct import and let enthusiasts buy them.

I hope the new THAR does really extraordinarily well and forces Suzuki to launch this thing here.
This reinforces my thinking that the top echelons of Suzuki India are nothing but bean counters, focus group experts, and accountants.

Maruti way of thinking will be their doom, any demand for a product should be met, instead of giving it to the competition.
Had maruti launched Gypsy with AC, power steering and Diesel. It would have taken way 90% of the Thar sales. It may had more sales in military too.
Now they are applying the same for all low volume vehicles jimny and EV vehicles, saying poor demand.

Exactly. CSUV is booming here in India and it's the right time to do it. It's even got a 4x4 which non of the other CSUV's got. Kia realized that and dethroned the segment leader by bringing a car with features that customers want. Even when other CSUVS found in India are not praised by foreign journalists, wonder what the Jimmy will do when everyone is praising it.
Maruti's number scale is different. They can easily import the 2000 vehicles, but it also means training their almost 4000 service center personnel, stocking spares, and doing all the other things which make Maruti ownership hassle free. Not going to do it for 2000 vehicles.
Maybe Toyota can rebadge and sell these?

Is there anything particular, you would like to know about the JB74w Jimny or see closer on the vehicle in a photograph or a video?
I have had the car for almost a year now, have driven past the 10 000 km milestone, have reached the Vmax, have stalled it a few times too, haha, have sat it on its belly etc etc.
I am ready to answer any question and show/describe any part of my beloved Jimny.
Please feel free to ask.
The Suzuki Jimny is an automotive chameleon - Now in another guise:)

Designed to imitate a classic Ford Bronco, the DAMD Dronco’s powder blue exterior paint is juxtaposed with white highlights on the wheels, bumpers and rear canopy.
Combined with a reworking of the Jimny’s headlights and grille at the front, not to mention a roof ladder at the back, there’s more than a passing resemblance to the Ford Bronco here.

While a Jimny India launch remains elusive as ever (damn Suzuki for neglecting their #1 market like this!), maybe one can make do with the Lego version.

Would love to get this lego kit and build it along with my kid.

:Frustrati this is slap on the face for folks who are waiting on this side! MSIL will you please wake up and launch this car!
On a side note, i never knew there was a base no-frills bare minimum version of the vehicle available. It should be priced reasonable also, i guess. Damn it!

Jimny is an unfulfilled dream for many enthusiasts in India. And considering your varied experience, it would be great if you can write a small review specially on its offroad capability, suspension, engine etc with few pictures.
Suzuki launching this in Pakistan makes it even worse man. It is like slapping us on the face for being their biggest market.
What is stopping them from launching it in Nexa and having only exclusive nexa service centers service it.
I think it is time we petition on change.org for Suzuki to launch this in India

Not really! It goes by the market dynamics. In Indian market they know that only the cheap and so-called VFM models have a space. Otherwise a regular Vitara would have made its way (instead of a Brezza), or the Swift would be sold with 6 airbags, ESP etc. (like how it is sold in other markets). Even in a minuscule market like Singapore, where there is absolutely no off-roading options, the Jimny is available.
