This reminds me of Hummer.clap:
If it ever makes it's way to production & bring it to India then it'll be in Top 5 selling vehicles list constantly. There is a huge demand for compact SUV's and even Maruti Suzuki have tasted success through Vitara Brezza. So they might be interested in making another success story through this.
I wish to get one if it's introduced here.:D

Though i personally prefer the original SWB 3 door Jimny but somehow @kuroazutter has done a good job with the renders.
Take a look at these 4 door visualisations, where one looks like the Hummer & other seems to have taken inspiration from the Wrangler :D
The annual sale of Jimny for the year 2017 in Europe is mere 14710 units. If launched in India I believe it could exceed this figure. The story of Gypsy sale is different. It can not be compared with Jimny . The 2018 Jimny looks very much like Tata Sumo. But from inside it is very much modern. If launched in India I will buy it as my regular car and not as week end car since my use of car is very much limited.

They do look quite cool, but I doubt if they will ever get made. The Hummer inspired one has a considerably wider track/width.
The Wrangler-inspired one looks a bit more feasible. But for a market like India this will have to slot into the sub-4 meter category. The rear has to be chopped off a bit more.
First off; I must convey my heartfelt gratitude to volkman 10 for providing a continuous stream of information and delicious pictures of the 2019 Jimny on the forum.
Throughout its lifecycle Jimny has had a 3 door design, very short overhangs and low ratio transfer case as standard. It was a body on frame design that is likely to be carried over for this generation as well.
Jimny is loved all across wherever it is sold because of its simplicity, capability, compact dimensions and low cost of ownership.
The 5 door rendering though a good attempt simply destroys the character of the vehicle.
Some folks might argue that if a Wrangler can have 4 doors so can Jimny. Wrangler is a much wider platform (1645 vs 1875 mm) and longer as well. The difference can be put into perspective if you compare the lengths of the two door version of the Wrangler with Jimny (4237 vs 3550 mm). Additionally lengthening the platform is a complex engineering endeavor that can be quite expensive & can be justified only if there is sufficient return expected & I’m not even taking into consideration the weight increase & cost considerations. Even if Suzuki is able to pull it off; I’m not sure if Suzuki has a motor in their portfolio to power the vehicle with the added weight. It they power it with the existing 1.5 ltr. motor, it will become one more bumbling, under-powered mall crawler SUV and we have enough of these in Indian market. If Suzuki, for commercial consideration can make a 4/5 door configuration, with a reasonable power train and keep it under 15 lacs; more power to them.
The fact that Jimny is a body on frame platform and all its variants will have a transfer case translates into one thing: choppy ride & low mileage; no matter if it has a diesel or a gas motor. I have driven almost every ladder chassis based vehicle available in North America and India (barring the G Wagon) and they will never ride as well as a monocoque. In such a scenario it is unlikely to become a mainstream vehicle and if at all introduced in India will remain a niche vehicle and that means low numbers. Suzuki folks are fairly smart (more than what some folks are willing to give them credit for) and they have done their homework. They have been selling 15,000 odd vehicles across Europe, parts of Asia, Africa & Australia and will not mind the additional numbers that India can contribute therefore I believe that in all their wisdom Suzuki will introduce Jimny into Indian market sooner or later.
By sticking to tradition and not succumbing to the temptation of over-designing or over complicating this nifty little 4X4, Suzuki effectively (and probably unintentionally) created a classic and they hopefully will not spoil the recipe in a hurry.
I must also add a disclaimer: I’ll be one of the first customers if it comes to India; for a three door version with a 1.5 ltr. gas motor to give company to my 2016 Gypsy King.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed…

More of the technology and features,
Safety Features:
And in Japan , creates a stir among its fans,
I blame the people on this thread posting videos, pics and updates more than Suzuki now :). Lovely mechanical setup and I think its the right size for us. Two doors are good enough.
I like the interior. Its doesnt look too plain and low quality like some others do in our country. Neatly done. One wouldnt be afraid to take it off-road given the good service and reach.
Just one word! Beautiful! I was very apprehensive about the new gypsy but they have managed to make it look beautiful. I can't wait for it in our Maruti version. I guess I found my first car to buy in India.
What a wonderful offroader. Has all the right features and tech to keep the family happy and as well as the individual.
Please Maruti bring it to India, this is one vehicle we need.
Every second I spend looking at it, I want it more.

And we are their strongest market. Keeping the company afloat.
They build a truly desirable product after so many years and they serve us the last.

It is mainly speculated to be a 4 door variant with an optional diesel power-train.
If a two door and petrol only car they could have launched it earlier. Not sure if they will take this route considering the love for us on diesel SUV's.
The workload here upgrading most of the existing line-up due to the upcoming emission norms /crash worthiness/ CAFE/ Hybrids/EV's etc. will hinder the prioritization of Jimny to the product portfolio.
