BMW greenlights the X7!

These are the 1st spy shots of BMW's next generation of X5 SUV;

The car appears to be close in size and proportions to the current F15 X5, but its kidney grilles have clearly grown in size, especially vertically.

The overall shape also appears to be less boxy than the F15 X5.

IMO this gen of the X5 is still fresh & BMW are kind of hurrying with this one.

Should be out by 2018

Nooo! It cannot be the next gen X5. I feel it's the next gen X3 or the top of the line X7.

Speaking of next gen X3, check this thread here: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/intern...mw-x3-g01.html

Regarding X7 ? I thought the same too by seeing these spy shots, but Bimmerpost has confirmed it being the next gen X5: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1216796

Re: Spy Pics: Next Gen BMW X5 (G05)

They have it wrong. X7 is supposed to be out in 2018. This mule is in line with that launch.

Look at the car. Its rear-end is much more elongated than the current X5. My guess is that it has a full 3rd row as opposed to the travesty they currently offer.

I could be wrong. But I'm judging based on pure visuals and this isn't the look of the X5. Larger grille and lights, longer wheelbase, full third row; eventually a higher suspension and voila - its the X7.

We will find out eventually.

Well you may be right considering the current X5 (F15) hasn't got an LCI (facelift) yet so it may be too soon for an all new X5.

But speaking about the X7 here is a thread dedicated for the same: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/intern...lights-x7.html

Lets hope for the best & thanks for your inputs

Overall, it gives the impression of a larger X5, but it’s best to reserve our final judgment until at least some of the disguise will come off to reveal more of the metal

Three-row 2019 BMW X7 set to roll out at Frankfurt show

Quote:
Not much is missing from the BMW lineup, but one thing shoppers haven't been able to find in the brand's showrooms is a three-row crossover SUV with a large third row. That's all set to change; BMW is ready to bring its upcoming X7 to this fall's Frankfurt auto show. According to Autocar, the oft-spotted BMW behemoth has been testing all over the place and will soon be ready to begin testing dealer lots and buyer wallets.

It should hit the market place as a 2019 model vehicle, and word is that it will get a heavy push in the Chinese market. Of course, we love full-size machines here in the States so you can expect to see them clogging up your local highway with nary a turn signal working in sight.
The Frankfurt Auto Show is from September 14th-24th, 2017! Looks like we'll see this one soon enough.

Re: BMW greenlights the X7!

The X7 should be a perfect platform (~ dressed down) real time testing for RR Cullinan & fine tuning over period. After all the RR sedans are essentially dressed up BMW 7 Series.

Re: BMW greenlights the X7!

It would be a straight forward tussle with the GLS. Having been driving an X3 for the past few years, this X7 seems massive in size. Obviously the 3rd row seems to be have gotten some attention this time around compared to the X5.

Side Profile looking more like LC than a Beemer.

Compared to its younger siblings who have more or less a clean design this is looking a bit disproportionate.
