The sport utility vehicle has a length of 4,107 mm and a charismatic design. It always features front-wheel drive and has a functional configuration with up to 455 liters of cargo capacity. An SUV that is both practical and cool, intuitively driveable and safe. The T-Cross, with up to 18-inch wheels, will be available with four turbocharged engine options. The gasoline engines (TSI) are to be equipped with gasoline particle filters and will have power outputs of 70 kW / 95 PS, 85 kW / 115 PS and 110 kW / 150 PS. The power output of the diesel (TDI) will be 70 kW / 95 PS.

VW reveals some details:

- for more space in the luggage compartment (385 to 455 litres)

- The back of the rear seat can also be divided (60:40) or completely folded down

-This creates a flat loading area and thus even more space (1,281 litres)

-The fold-down front passenger seat backrest offers additional flexibility.

-The high seating position in the T-Cross is typical for an SUV: 597 mm at the front and 652 mm at the three seats at the rear; the elevated view from the T-Cross is realized via higher ground clearance and the seat system.

VW's Compact SUV near production ready, unveiling in Autumn,

The new T-Cross trailer – "I am cool": Volkswagen designers survey the world of compact SUV's.

The slogan "I am more" will accompany the launch in spring 2019. It stands for the four property fields "I am practical", "I am cool", "I am intuitive" and "I am safe". With a trailer for "I am cool", Volkswagen is now showing how the T-Cross designers have surveyed the world again and developed a new, urban generation of the Sport Utility Vehicle.

Exterior example:
the T-Cross has a deliberately charismatic and masculine design. The front end, with its bonnet and headlights integrated outside the wide radiator grille, is a dominant design feature. At the side, a sharply cut character line divides the areas. It forms a powerful shoulder section and merges into a new design element at the rear: the reflector strip running across and bordered by black trim.


Colour and trim example:
two-colour dash pads link the fresh, sporty style of the interior and the twelve colours of the exterior. The new T-Cross will also be available in different bi-colour paintwork versions as an option when it is launched next year

Interior example:
at an early stage of development, the designers immersed themselves in the spacious interior – virtually using augmented reality. They tested the ergonomics as well as the ambience and experienced the T-Cross of tomorrow live today in order to perfect it further. At the same time, they got a feeling for what it will be like for the first customers when their songs from the smartphone media library or streaming services resound through the interior of the new SUV via the "beats" sound system.

The Next big launch for VW will be the T Cross that will be unveiled in October and go on sale in early 2019 for markets like Brazil.

India will have to wait a bit longer and will not see the T Cross earlier than 2020.

Brazilian prices will start at ₹ 15.2 lakhs and range topping at ₹18.8 lakhs ( on currency conversion)




For Brazil, the T CROSS will come in 3 power-train options:

- 200 TSI with 5-speed manual transmission - R $ 85,000
- 200 TSI Automatic 6 gears - R $ 95 thousand
- 250 TSI Automatic 6 gears - R $ 105 thousand

For the markets of Latin America will also be produced a version with 1.6 MSI engine associated with manual or automatic transmission.

The Brazilian T Cross will differ from the European T Cross. The emerging market T Cross will be larger and built on the Virtus platform, while the European one will use the Polo platform.
Expect India to get the Brazilian T Cross.

Thus, the Brazilian VW T-Cross will have 4.19 meters in length, 2.64 meters in track width. In addition, it will have the height in relation to the ground 1 cm larger than the European model, resulting in a total height of 1.56 meters

T Cross ( Brazil version) proto review:

After all the inter-axes of the Brazilian (and Chinese) model is the same as this, with 2.651 mm, or 86 mm larger than the European. It is also longer with a total of 4,199 millimeters while the height of 1,568 mm in height is 1 cm larger, justified by the set up of the suspension

The inner space is good. The ergonomics found in the driver's seat is similar to that of the Polo, with the obvious higher driving position. Digital instrument panel, multimedia central, air-conditioning controls, all the same. There are specific differences in the design of the panel, due to the size, and because it houses a horizontal LED fillet for ambient lighting equal to that of the Jetta. The reading lights are in LED, like those of the Golf, and are also present for the rear passengers. Manual parking brake and center console with fixed cupholders are the same as the Polo.

Passengers in the back seat have generous leg and shoulder space. Another positive point is the low central tunnel. In the trunk, 373 liters, but that can be enlarged to 420 liters by sliding the rear seats forward (solution similar to that of Fox). In this flexible configuration, it is close to the 437 liters of the Honda HR-V and the 431 liters of Hyundai Creta

Engines:

T-Cross will be sold with 1.0 TSI engine options, with 115/128 hp and 20.4 kgfm of torque (the 200 TSI) and the 1.4 TSI, with 150 hp and 25.5 kgfm of torque ( the 250 TSI) with six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive only.

The safety features are featured with six airbags, post-collision braking and the traction and stability controls in conjunction with the ramp starting assistant. The more expensive versions, with the 1.4 engine, will bring the Jetta driving modes, configurable internal lights and the instrument panel in TFT screen of 10 ". In the optional items, sound system signed by Beats Audio, panoramic solar roof and even automatic parking assist.The wheels will be 16 "with 205/60 or 17" tires with 205/55 tires.For rear seat passengers, air vents and two USB ports

Overall, the feel is that the dynamic adjustment is more refined than the Polo, reminding the hatch in a matter of comfort and a little of the Golf in the corners.

Volkswagen unveils its Small Compact SUV in Amsterdam,


Based on the MQB platform has allowed VW to locate the driven front axle well forward. As a result, the T-Cross has a relatively generous wheelbase compared to the overall vehicle length. The small SUV is 4.11 meters (161.8 in) long and has a 2.56-meter (100.8-in) wheelbase.

As a result, VW says the interior is spacious and offers enough room for five people. Furthermore, it benefits from a sliding rear seat that has offers 140 mm (5.5 in) of travel, maximizing legroom or boot volume depending on the need.

The luggage compartment has a capacity that varies between 385 and 455 liters (13.6-16 cu ft). When the rear seat back folds down fully or partially to expand cargo volume to an impressive 1,281 liters (45.2 cu ft).
