Looks like the Q2 is coming to India sometime in the remaining months of 2016. Petrol versions also planned - for the other Qs and As as well. Interesting times ahead.

Yes, which means the launch is near. I was hoping the Q2 base petrol would be priced closer to 22 lac, but everyone seems to be suggesting 25 lac ex showroom :( These cars seem just a lil bit out of reach every single time...

So true unfortunately. What used to be 10 to 15 lacs is now 20 to 25 and so on.
Maybe when they launch a Nano sized micro hatch we could probably look at 20 lacs or thereabouts.

NDTV thinks Q2 could start below 20 lac.

I guess it is just me who finds it annoying that cars the size of premium hatchbacks have strangely and shamelessly started calling themselves SUVs.

Not the least impressed, even if it is offered under 20L ex-showroom. JMO!

Re: Audi Q2 SUV teased ahead of debut at Geneva Motor Show

I took the opportunity to take a short test drive of the Audi Q2 today, when a friend was evaluating it. The drive was for about 30km, of which I spent the first 10km in the backseat and the rest driving. The car was the 1.4 TFSI AT.

I had earlier test driven the Audi A3 Sportback (and A3 sedan) and my impression was that they lack legroom at the back. With the Q2 being even shorter than the A3, I expected things to be worse. But, I was pleasantly surprised with the rear legroom in the Q2 - for a person of my height 5'8", sitting behind a driver of the same height. However, the base of the seat is short and the seat back is too upright, so I am not sure about comfort levels on long trips. The seat is quite firm.

It is not a tall car by any means, but ingress and egress is easier than a sedan (like my Octavia). You can walk into the cabin.

At the front, the driver has a good view of the surroundings. However, the seat base is short (better than rear seat) and the seat felt narrow compared to the Octavia. The cabin felt more airy than that of the A3. Maybe I'm wrong, but it also felt slightly wider than the A3. The headroom at the front and rear is adequate for a person on my height.

The steering feels good to hold and is very light, but somehow it didn't seem to weigh up as much as in my Octavia at speed (maybe I'm just too used to the Octavia). The higher CoG was quite evident in the short test drive (I took it up to 110kmph) during lane changes (compared to a sedan), but it is by no means scary.

The tire noise is quite evident inside the cabin. My friend, who drove the A3 recently, remarked that A3 cabin feels more isolated from outside noise.

The 1.4TFSI+DSG combo works very well for this baby SUV. I didn't feel short on power at any point of time.

The boot is slightly larger than that of the A3. The boot opening is large, the boot is well-shaped and I guess it can hold the luggage for a weekend trip for a family of 4 quite easily.

I cannot comment on how well-loaded it is in terms of features, since the TD car had lot of optional extras configured. I'm not sure how many of those features are available as standard.

My friend who is evaluating the car is quite impressed with it and another friend who accompanied us on the test drive is already sold on the Q2 (he is planning to replace his car next year).

Is there any news of India launch? Nothing is updated since long. I really liked this car. if they priced it well, I will prefer it any day over Jeep Compass.

Re: Audi Q2 SUV teased ahead of debut at Geneva Motor Show

The new Audi Q2 2021, a face-lift is coming! Spied in southern Europe.
Quote:
Camouflage is concentrated on both the front and rear. And it is logical, since it will be on the front and behind where the main aesthetic changes that the Q2 will receive will be concentrated. A whole series of modifications that will allow you to adapt to the new design line that Audi is following.

The grille will be updated, as will optical groups that will use Full LED technology. It will premiere luminous signature. The bumpers will be checked and new customization options will be added that will go through new body colors as well as tire designs.
Expect the interiors to be updated inn all areas, connectivity, comfort and security.
Quote:
As regards the engine range of the new Q2, it will consist of a selection of gasoline and diesel mechanics. Electrification will be on track with 48-volt Mild Hybrid technology to be offered in certain blocks to reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. At the moment there is no hybrid or electric version on the agenda. Let's remember that China the Q2 does have an electric version.

IMHO, looks very polo esque from behind. Especially the tail-lamps.

Re: Audi Q2 SUV teased ahead of debut at Geneva Motor Show

New Audi Q2 e-tron 2023:

While it was revealed the current A1 will not be replaced as such, the honor will now fall to the SUV Q2 to represent the entry level car for Audi

This second generation of urban SUV planned for 2023, or even 2024, could be the e-tron.

Quote:
At its launch in 2023, the Audi Q2 e-tron is expected to be offered at around €35,000,when its big brothers Q4 e-tron + Sportback claim at least €42,800, to date.

Quote:
Audi will sweep even wider, on the green mobility side, from 2023, by offering a 100% electric derivative of its future Q2, logically baptized e-tron.
Quote:
the new base called SSP (Scalable Systems Platform), which will become widespread on all future electric models of the Volkswagen Group. Even more flexible than the MEB (entry and mid-range) and PPE (premium) bases, it will inaugurate a new cell technology for its batteries, the cost of which will be well below 100 €/kWh. 80% of the models in the range will use it in 2030. As for the future Audi Q2 e-tron SUV, the 400 km of WLTP range will be greatly exceeded at the entry level.
