IMO...This is just another Audi which looks almost the same as its big brothers in Q series. There is nothing refreshing about the design, but the design language has worked for Audi.

I dont think this will be priced below 20 lakhs ex-showroom even for base variant as the smallest Merc A180 starts at approx 25 lakhs which is presumed to be a hatchback. With the SUV tag to the Q2, it must be atleast that or more.

The front looks decent - not too bad, but nothing to go 'Oh wow' about either. The side is unique and would stand out in a crowd.
But the rear? Oh dear ! why the Polo? Nothing more expensive to get inspired from eh?

And, if I really had that sort of money, I would buy the X1 instead.

The rear looks very similar to a Polo. If it is priced at around 20 lakhs, I would still buy the Superb.( If I had that much money). I don't think it will be spacious enough to accomodate 4.

Decent looking car but don't understand why they need to change the shape of the grille every couple of years. More than rivals, I guess this will directly hit the Q3.

The prices of Q3 would be increased y a couple of lacs citing rise in input costs and fall in rupee value.

What happened to the designers at Audi?
It you remove the Audi badge in the front, the car would look out of place at the Audi family dinner party . And for an entry level vehicle which is purpose built to pull more people to the brand they could've done a more better job taking inspiration from their bigger Q sibilings. Personally for me it's not upto the mark as its brother Q3 led the segment in styling against the GLA and the X1. (Which forced new gen X1 to step up its game!)

(Put a i20 active next to it and cover all the badges , you'll be surprised by the response of the people.)

Below report from rushlane report says that Q2 would not be launched in India this year.

"Basically, Audi Q2 has all the right ingredients to lure away a huge chunk of entry-level luxury car buyers from the market, including here in India. So we asked Audi at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, when is the Q2 coming to India? Surprising as it may sound, Audi has no plans of launching the Q2 in India as of now."

The Q2 in its first generation is not making it into US because of its smaller dimensions and recent Q3 introduction.
The Q8 is in the works. Interesting, would it be a competition to the badass Rangie?
