The Toyota Corolla is all set to get a facelift and images of the updated version have been leaked. The images reportedly surfaced on the European Union trademark and patent office's website.

The leaked images show the Corolla in two different avatars as the Corolla is offered with different designs based on the market it is sold in, and both versions look the same as their hybrid counterparts (which are already on sale in markets like China). The images also show certain similarities with spy shots that surfaced earlier, though the final design is what we're seeing here.

The version that is expected to come to India gets a new twin-bar chrome front grille, restyled headlamps that are sleeker than those of the current model and a new front bumper with a wider air-dam outlined by chrome. The rear end gets updates as well, with the tail lights sporting new internals and a slim chrome strip running across the tail lights and boot-lid.

It is unknown if the car will receive any mechanical updates / tweaks. In India, the Corolla Altis is offered with a 1.8-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre diesel engine.

However, Altis is pretty new and this facelift at this juncture in uncalled for.
What is the need of the hour is as below:

1) Revamp the Etios twins completely-interior and exterior(and pls. get the speedo console right, Add the basic features one can expect in the segment- ACC, Good HU, Electrically adjustable ORVMs etc )

2) Pls. get the Vios pronto!!

Sir the facelift is actually due. We got the car late in India but it was on sale for at least a year overseas before we got it in India so the facelift is as per the lifecycle of the car.
Its probably right to expect Toyota to bring in the facelift also at a much later date in India.

I think its time for Toyota to scrap the Etios twins and bring in modern (proper) cars into India. Look at the astounding success Suzuki, Honda and Hyundai are having by bringing in their best.

So where are the updates exactly? Or adding a few chrome bits & bobs here & there counts as a face-lift even for a car costing 1.5 million+ rupees? Toyota doing a Maruti

Toyota seriously needs to dump the 1.4 D4D oil burner from this 15+ lakhs car. A 1400 cc 90 bhp engine in this segment is a major sales deterrent.

Look at Volkswagen's offering in the Jetta, it simply blows the Corolla away.

The Etios twins & then this are doing no good, with the Ford Endeavour on its way, the Fortuner will face stiff competition. Toyota will be left with just the Innova which has a free way.

The Corolla still retains its USP of being the most dependable sedan out there so I shall refrain from complaining about the not so great interior quality or the uninspiring drive. No other sedan is as reliable as the Corolla so it still earns a from me for that. However, with the new facelift, I hope they grow a conscience and start offering more safety kit. That is simply a must for a car in this segment. Common Toyota, only offering 2 airbags, abs and ebd is a joke on a car costing so much!

Toyota Corolla Altis Facelift released through sketches officially.

The Corolla sports the company’s current design language and a number of new safety tech. The sedan seen here set to be launched in Australia in the first quarter of 2017.
No details have been released about the Corolla facelift’s engine and gearbox.

Are the sales really deterred? I don't think so mate. Not that I love the current vehicle, but nevertheless it has got maximum sales in that segment IIRC.

While I agree Toyota is the reliability champion, I don't often see Cruze stranded in roads.

2017 Toyota Corolla for the US Market.

The Toyota Corolla has reached 2017 model year in United States where the hugely popular sedan has received some cosmetic tweaks along with more standard safety kit.

It's getting uglier with each facelift/surgery. Must something bulge out like a squashed boiled egg? First the headlights, now the front bumper. Toyota needs to bring in the designer of Celica to draw a new Corolla, methinks.

Well it looks like they have added a dual zone air conditioner (current one is single zone ACC). The materials look the same and i don't see any improvement there. Overall design isn't adding to the appeal of the interior which IMHO is only cool looking at Night. Its one of those interiors that doesnt look special in the day. Overall it remains an incredibly capable car that will continue to rule in India. The new Civic is apparently 2 years away and the new Elantra isn't really that special. The current Elantra brought in a wow factor that the new one doesn't bring in.
