The Tiguan LWB spotted testing in EU.

The images show an extension of both the wheelbase and rear overhang for the Nissan Qashqai rival, expected to accomodate an extra row of seats for occasional use. The images were taken at a private VW test centre in Europe, hinting that China might not be the only market a bigger Tiguan is sold

Volkswagen group is definitely going for a mass killing with kind of Tiguan and Kodiaq. They look elegantly handsome (looks are subjective, I admit, but this is my opinion, and they are compared to what are offered by Japanese or Koreans) and none can question the solidity that this group (or for that matter any European can) offers. With better roads and world class cars, our India is going to be a really happening place. Best wishes

To my disappointment, it seems, Tiguan is going to be launched only as a 5-seater. My anticipation of elongated wheelbase may not be the case once it is out next month.

As per the above web-site, only 2.0 L diesel engine would be offered in in two variants with 17 inch and 18 inch wheels respectively.

Now my focus shifts to Kodiaq or otherwise for a 5 seater to Jeep Compass.

I don't know about others but this design just does not do anything for me. I know looks are subjective and all that but still, as an SUV it does not excite me at all. I find no oomph factor here. Almost looks to me like any VW car that has been extended and made to look like a station wagon. Particularly that LWB Tiguan in gray looks very insipid to me! :(

This reminds us that these are not exactly SUVs and are crossovers. Even headroom on this is not that great and is slightly more than what a station wagon would have. People like these and car makers are en cashing on them.

Sir try test driving Volvo V40 in chennai. The salesman will stand in front of you and ask you to try running over him. Pedestrian safety is demonstrated that way! I am not kidding! Wonder what Tiguan salesmen will do.
