Don't worry, what James meant to say was that they are getting old and they will do Grand tour for 5 years and then they will retire.

Pretty reasonable considering Jeremy will be 61 and James will be 58 by then.

Somehow the 'magic' isn't there is what I felt watching the first 2 episodes. The jokes seem a lot more scripted. It's as if they have to have 5 jokes/min. The digital laptime board, the track itself, the "American" - all reminds one of TG. I am not sure if they did it on purpose or it just happened while trying to up the game.

At some times this episode "04"felt a bit boring with those sustainable cars.

Don't know about Airplay, but it worked just fine on my computer.

Loved the 1st episode and it was great to see the boys back.

4 episodes over, it still fails to excite me like TG did. Many share the same sentiments I am sure. The GT is good and hilarious in parts but overall its not that exciting.

The first 4 episodes were just about ok. Maybe we all have higher expectations from the trio. As far as GT is concerned, I may not want to watch any of the first 4 episodes again. This was definitely not the case with TG, I loved watching the episodes again and again.

As someone mentioned in one of the earlier posts, the 'magic' is missing.

Ep4 was definitely much better than the earlier three. There's a gradual proposition the show is settling into now. TG(new) took five seasons before becoming repeat-watchable, so these guys are definitely faster this time around.
All in all, good fun.

PS: I think there are some legal hurdles that disallow the guys to use their mainstays like the SIARPC, or the stig, or Some of James' phrases. The guest piece is like a slap in the face of the BBC that we can have guests on the show without even HAVING them on the show.

bingo. the first few seasons of TG was like watching a documentary

and like you said, after the boredom of ep2, ep3 and ep4 have been progressively better. Just not impressed with the american and the celebrity thing is getting old. but the chemistry between the trio which i believe is the real trump card still amazes

Agree with Mayank. Everything takes time to be perfect. Though i am not complaining here, i do like this show. Better to have something rather than nothing
