Amazing News! The car looks much better than the Previous-gen and looks like you get the space to put a spare tyre in too! Good job BMW but I still don't like BMW's styling connecting the grille to the headlight. Kudos to BMW

BMW X1 - Longer wheel base, drawings leaked, targets the Chinese market.

While the regular model has a wheelbase measuring 105.1 inches (2,670 mm), the seven-seater will likely be elongated by at least 4 inches (100 mm) to free up cabin room. With all the seven seats in place, the cargo capacity will be very limited given the car’s small size, but BMW believes that won’t be a deal breaker for people in the market for this SAV.

The rear doors are significantly longer and come with bigger windows to let more light inside the cabin that can accommodate an extra two rear seats. However, there’s not going to be a lot of room available on that third row since headroom will be limited, so most likely the seats will be suitable mostly for kids.

The vehicle will ride on the same UKL platform as the standard X1 and will be offered with an assortment of three- and four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines along with a plug-in hybrid setup. Front-wheel drive is going to be standard, but the beefier engines will be optionally paired to an xDrive arrangement

The car looks much fuller and looks more SUVish now. The tail lights are really improved and makes the car look broad. Even the rear bumper and the exhausts look very appealing. I can say without a doubt that this is surely going to be the most popular in its segment.
I hope, BMW doesn't mess up with it for India. Here is what I found for Indian spec:

For India, BMW is expected to offer the new generation X1 with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder TwinPower turbocharged engine that will come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The motor is expected to product around 150 hp for the India-spec model.

Motorauthority reports spy pics of what is supposed to be a 7 seater X1, the long wheel base X1. The report speculates that BMW might target the Chinese and Euro market with the 3rd row.
