Koenigsegg's new Hypercar, the Regera. 1500 horses, 0 - 400 kph in 20 seconds. All very fine.

I would love to see these exotica makers move into Hybrid / EVs. They may bring in innovations quite different from the mainline car makers. This should really advance the breed.

Koenigsegg has beaten its own 0-400-0 km/h (0-249-0 mph) world record, this time with the Regera.

And they just gave a subtle indication that they're going after the recently set top speed record by the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ prototype.

In a world of 'right'-sized engines, Christian Von Koenigsegg produced the most downsized engine ever with 220 hp/litre. That too without being too bulky like the Chiron and having too many radiators to cool a giant engine. that said, Bugatti did manage 304 mph which is incredible. Pretty sure CVK is working on the Jesko Absolut to beat that record.

Coupled with the amazing hybrid direct drive system which compensates for low end torque thus eliminating the need for a gearbox altogether. Proof that Koenigsegg is far ahead of peers like McLaren, Ferrari and Bugatti. (Though the McLaren Speedtail is also very efficient).

1100 hp and 1250 Nm from ICE
700 hp of electric propulsion
900 Nm of electric torque
4.5 kWh 800 Volt, flooded liquid cooled battery pack
