Swedish car maker Volvo has officially taken the reigns off the S60 Cross Country. In light of the rising crossover fad, the S60 Cross Country is essentially the same sedan, but features a ride height that has been increased by 65 mm.

Re: Volvo reveals S60 Cross Country

So basically, Volvo is doing what Jeepers have been for ages. Raise the suspension, put in bigger wheels & tyres and voila = more ground clearance.

I think it's a stupid idea, although the S60 Cross doesn't look too bad. Still, this is taking car-based crossovers to a new low. No design changes, no styling differences...just jack it up a bit. Shows how cash-strapped Volvo and its R&D really are.

And handling? Wont that be adversely affected? It's like walking on stilts.

Besides those wheel arches look vacant now. Ugh!

Re: Volvo reveals S60 Cross Country

It looks like the oddest crossover I've ever seen. It's just a really confused sedan.

I doubt this thing will be setting any sales charts on fire.

Re: Volvo reveals S60 Cross Country

It may be much more bad road friendly, especially in countries like India it will be far more practical but it looks weird for sure! Thumbs down from me.

Well this what Skoda did to Octavia II(Laura here) in India minus the AWD system, if you compare Laura which came with Euro Octavia II, the rough road package which included jacked up suspension made it look like a crossover in comparison.

Nothing compared to the 185mm clearance on the Linea. Probably FIAT can claim to have created this segment if it ever succeeds.

Things might get ugly if the German trio joins this fight. Rumours suggest Mercedes might come up with a GLB. Hope they remain as rumours, because the below render is downright ugly.
