MINI will shrink range down to 5 "superhero" models BMW subsidiary MINI has confirmed that the brand's model range will be downsized. MINI will now work towards offering 5 models instead of the 8 currently on sale. The brand will focus on "superhero" products said BMW AG board member Peter Schwarzenbauer. MINI has not officially stated which models will be retained. However, the "superhero" range is expected to include the MINI 3-door, MINI 5-door, MINI convertible, Countryman and Clubman.
MINI USA product planning manager recently confirmed that the MINI Coupe and Roadster would be pulled out of production in 2015. The Paceman may also be discontinued next year, while an electric MINI is also on the books.
