A few points to note.

- A Mini Golf look-alike
- Will be a truly 'PREMIUM' hatch if ever VW launches this in India
- Feature rich with spacious interiors
- Lower trim with halogen lamps
- Higher version LED daytime running light strip integrated headlamps
- Higher trims to be more expensive than entry level GOLF
- Chrome strip on rear bumper - All trims
- A similar ornament links the headlights through the front grille, but the more affordable version has it blacked-out
- Zigzag LED daytime running lights doubling as turn signals while above them are likely the optional full-LED headlights

A few points to note.

- A Mini Golf look-alike

It's always been a mini-Golf.

Am I the only one here who doesn't really like the new styling? The front end is kinda frumpy and for some reason, reminds me of the Opel Astra.

It looks a little too bland compared to its Indian competition (Baleno/i20/Jazz).

In fact, IMHO, it looks a generation older than the current car. The current gen Polo is really chic, and is definitely more appealing to my eyes

I am not that keen. I prefer the traditionally sharper lines of VW designs. Oh yeh... I have heard of and seen the Beetle: I mean the later stuff.

But It is not a complete disaster. I think I'm still a fanboy

I am sure the designers of next generation Polo would have faced a huge dilemma when they were given the brief on how to make it look similar to a mini Golf without ruining the current elegant design. Unfortunately they haven't succeeded much IMO. The problem is the design of Mark 7 Golf, its too bland and extremely mellowed. Its difficult to follow similar design to make a car that look any interesting.
I would have preferred VW stop portraying Polo as a mini Golf and kept Polo's current design virtually untouched but engineered it on the new platform.
The only solace is that it would probably look a bit more interesting when they launch it officially.

- As we are on the topic of design, it will be interesting to know the person who designed the current generation Polo. His name is Walter De Silva a 66 year old Italian who have worked at Alfa Romeo, I.D.E.A, Fiat and VW. His works include following hatchbacks Alfa Romeo 147 (2000), Seat Ibiza (2002),Seat Leon(2005), Golf (2008), Polo(2009) and VW Up! (2011).
He left VW in 2015.

AutoBild's review of the 2017 Polo - speculated to be priced lower than the current Gen.

Despite a lot of new technology VW wants the prices even slightly lower: the new Polo is to start at around 12,500 euros, currently it is at 12,600 euros.

Comes in the form of the single-liter three-cylinder with 65, 75, 95 or 115 hp. With the optional 80 or 95 hp 1.6-liter diesel.

Test driven the 1.0l-115hp Polo,

The very ordinary driving performance gives the inconspicuous five-seater a permanent ticket for the fast lane: nine seconds to 100 km / h, 200 top, just under five liters per 100 kilometers

The polo seems to have lost its charming looks, but has definitely grown up. I hope VW learns a thing or two and gives us a 1.0 TSi in a couple of tunes, i expect 90 and 115(possibly a GT TSi).

They already have good diesel engines, but the manual petrol polo is seriously down on power.
