Sir, I believe that is the body colour being replicated. (You could see the door mirror in the image). VW has been maintaining this practice of body coloured panels in the interiors ever since the super popular VW UP! became a rage among European buyers.

Volkswagen to introduce an affordable SPORTS Variant called GTS in its NEW POLO, VIRTUS and the Upcoming Crossover T CROSS. To launch in BRAZIL and likely to come to India too.

Will be powered by the 1.4 TSI seen in Golf and speculated to be of 150 hp and 25.5 kgfm. This engine will be mated to a TipTronic six-speed automatic transmission.

Performance wise 0-100 Km/h is expected to be under 7.5 sec.

The Polo GTI with 2.0 TSI 200 hp engine, sold only in Europe, and will not be offered in Brazil ( and India?).

Likely to be shown at the São Paulo Motor Show in November this year.

VW must have got the GTI with this engine in the first place in India, and priced it at around 18L ex showroom. Rest assured, I would have been driving one today!!

As the saying goes, Better late than Never I guess.

But hang on, when is the next-gem Polo coming to India....in 2020??

That is the catch here, new platform products from the VAG group will only trickle in from 2021 onward.

Maybe then we will get the face-lifts of the New Polo and Virtus

The 1.4 TSI is an old engine isn't compatible with MQB from what I know. The MQB platform only supports the 1.0 TSI, the 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TSI. This probably will be the 1.5 TSI with 150 bhp.

Not true, 1.4 TSI is available in many MQB cars, case in point being the Octavia and A3 in India itself. Its also available in Golf in a few markets.
