More so the New Vitara is targeted for the Eu markets. This is more than 4 m in length while the XA alpha will be in the sub 4 m segment.
The XA Alpha will have parts sharing across the iV platform.

True as such it would not come to India, but the XA Alpha which is India specific is a spin off of the New Vitara.

Suzuki has revealed the production version of Vitara at the Paris show today. Would be going on sale in Europe in spring 2015.

It's shorter than the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross but slightly taller and wider and has been designed to offer genuine off-road capability. Suzuki's Allgrip four-wheel-drive system will be available as an option.
Two engines will be available, one petrol and one diesel. Both are 1.6-litre units that put out 118bhp. Four-wheel drive is available on both.

Petrol buyers can choose from a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox, while those opting for the diesel get a six-speed manual.

Fuel efficiency has been a priority. Official figures are yet to be revealed but Suzuki says that CO2 emissions will be as low as 106g/km on the manual, two-wheel-drive diesel and will rise to 138g/km for the four-wheel-drive petrol with the automatic gearbox.

Suzuki is also following the trend of offering buyers a wide range of personalisation options.

There will be a choice of 15 exterior colours including a number of two-tone combinations. Buyers will be able to personalise their cars by choosing from a variety of different colour surrounds for the bumpers, front grille, dashboard and clock.

This is not a Suzuki vehicle, as the camouflage normally used on Suzuki vehicles are of grey colour.

Maruti's YBA Cuv for India is speculated to have design cues from the New Vitara.

Pre production of the Crossover draws positive review - in a nutshell, "A Practical new Suzuki Vitara is fun to drive and feels built to last".

Both Petrol and Diesel draws good review with Petrol having an edge of lower noise.

Prices announced for UK - ranges from £13,999 to £21,299.

The range kicks off at £13,999 for the two-wheel drive, 118bhp 1.6-litre petrol-powered SZ4 which comes with seven airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels, DAB Radio with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control with speed limiter, auto air conditioning, front and rear electric windows and projector headlamps.
SZ-T starts at £15,499 and adds 17-inch silver painted alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, Smartphone link audio and navigation system, while SZ5 at £17,999 adds LED Projector headlights, 17-inch polished alloy wheels, suede seat fabric, keyless entry with start button, adaptive cruise control, Radar Brake Support and a panaoramic sunroof.

The 1.6 petrol can also be selected with Suzuki’s ALLGRIP four-wheel drive system. Available on just the SZ5, it comes at a £1,800 premium over the two-wheel drive 1.6 SZ5

The new Vitara, which is smaller than the outgoing Grand Vitara at a little over four metres long, features a 375-litre boot.

I thought Vitara is a segment above S Cross.

Are we getting Vitara in India ? No, for the time being. I think Suzuki makes their moolah from India and pampers the guys in UK.

New Vitara rolls out of the production line at its Hungarian plant in Esztergom in northern Hungary.

The Esztergom plant will be the only location where this Suzuki model is manufactured, and the cars will be exported to global markets.
