Team-BHP - 2014 Mercedes S-Class catches fire, Totaled!

A sad and horrific event that can dent the car maker's image, unless there is adequate proof that it was not due to any manufacturing defect.
The car's cost is put at Euros 100,000 ( US $ 138,000). This was a S350 Blue TEC diesel and among the flagship model by Mercedes Benz.
It is learnt that passers by and local business owners extinguished the flames, before the emergency crews arrived - quite a laudable effort !

So that means crime squad has also done some forensic research. But for now they are treating it as a technical problem. It also mentions something about a fiercely sparking battery.

In an incident reported today a Mercedes caught fire in Mumbai. Mercifully no lives were lost!
