re: The 2nd-generation Chevrolet Cruze

This design does look more like an upgraded verna to me too.

But whats more disturbing to me here, is the placement of the bowtie between the lip of the bonnet and the split grill.

I saw this on the Chevy Adra too, but this makes me feel that they are very serious about this look.

I feel that the regular placement on the Split area was way more handsome and added appeal to any chevy car. Here, it just feels forced and lost.

re: The 2nd-generation Chevrolet Cruze

I think everyones a bit disappointed with the new Cruze because we all expected an aggressive looking bulldog. The current one projects aggression that is missing in the new one.

Having said that, as a stand alone design, i think this isn't such a bad design and if you look at the rear quarter of the car it has a lot of muscle.

Compare it to the new Civic, Corolla, Focus, Slyphy and i think you may agree that this is best looking of the lot. (these are its competitors in the USA)

Like the current generation Cruze, the interior of the new model sports the dual-cockpit design, which according to the company is inspired by cars like the Corvette and Camaro.

Seen inside are a 3-spoke multifunction leather steering wheel, an instrument cluster with blue highlights, hand-stitched saddle brown leather seats and dashboard, an 8-inch touchscreen display featuring Chevy’s MyLink II system with voice controls and Bluetooth connectivity.

Just WOW! Atleast for me, the new interior is best in the segment (maybe only look-wise if not quality-wise).

That prominent stitching on the dashboard is quite supercar-ish, that's my favourite part.

And the good thing is that, even though it looks futuristic and hi-tech, they have not overdone it and make it look gaudy like the Elantra.

Amazing interiors but I highly doubt the leather dashboard treatment would make it to India. But this is exactly what the Cruze needs if it wants to stack up some numbers on T-bhp's monthly sales analysis thread

2015 Chevrolet Cruze launched In China

Zigwheels reports:
Quote:
Unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show earlier this year, the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze has made its official debut in the Chinese market. Developed by General Motors global R&D team, this new Chevrolet model is drastically different from its predecessor – the Chevrolet Tru that it replaces.

The 2015 Chevrolet Cruze gets a narrow grille, sweptback headlamps equipped with projectors and a hexagonal secondary air damn. The interior of the new model sports the dual-cockpit design and is finished in a dual-tone brown and black color theme. The 2015 Cruze features a leather wrapped three-spoke steering wheel and a MyLink II infotainment system with an eight-inch display.

In China, the 2015 Cruze is available with a 148PS 1.4-litre turbocharged engine and a naturally-aspirated 112PS 1.5-litre unit. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

There is no official confirmation from General Motors on whether this new model will make its way to the Indian roads just as yet.
Is GM hiring Hyundai design folks or what?

Thats a mix of Fludic Verna/ Cruze/Elantra??

Mish mash. Doesn't gel too well for me.

Rate it 4/10.

Adding Renault Fluence to the list as well! I'd rate it even lower for severe lack of originality

Re: 2015 Chevrolet Cruze launched In China

This is a stretched Verna. Why did they have to lose the masculine lines of the original car?? They might as well stick the Hyundai logo on the grill.

I am extremely disappointed in Chevy for neutralizing the hulk.

Isn’t it a doubtable figure? 148PS power from a 1.4L engine!

Unless there is a considerable difference in price, this option is not a usable alternate (presuming it is a gasoline engine).

Could be possible. VAG are squeezing 140PS from a 1.4 TSI. 148 is not too distant a possibility.

Re: 2015 Chevrolet Cruze launched In China

Thats one ugly looking Cruze. Indeed looks like a rehash of all other models available in market. God knows how did they even think of launching a car with that shape. Looks completely horrid....

However, 148PS from a 1.4 Litre engine seems exciting but, hopefully mated to a nice gear-box (7 speed DSG especially)

Re: 2015 Chevrolet Cruze launched In China

My word, that looks horrid. I loved the looks of the 1st Cruze to launch here. It's been all downhill ever since, and this is them in freefall, going downhill so rapidly.\

The interior pics leaked earlier (and talked about here) looked fantastic and the 7 speed DSG would be welcome, but by god their design team needs to be fired.

Re: 2015 Chevrolet Cruze launched In China

Well, Keeping the Chinese auto-market in mind and with due respect, their indigenous car designers could have provided a better looking Cruze to Chevrolet had the company approached them; since Chinese are known to be " inspired" by cars from other countries. They could have easily "referred" to the Indian Chevrolet Cruze!

Agree with other members that it looks like a stretched Hyundai, and it doesn't look half as aggressive as the previous generation- but ugly?

Sleek design, good proportions and no forced design elements- forgeting the fact that its a Chevrolet and a Cruze- I actually like what I see.
