Guys, any news on the Accord launch or if Honda has something is in the pipeline for 2013 - updates, facelift etc.?
Our Civic will be due for a replacement soon and if the 2013 Accord doesn't show up this year, we'll have to stretch our budget and venture into the holy trinity game - not that it's necessarily a bad thing :)
The 9th-generation 2013 Honda Accord has been unveiled in Thailand on Monday.

So is this due to come to India even by 2014 or will Honda either discontinue the current Accord like it did with the Civic and the Jazz due to the absence of a diesel?
While it builds up the production capacity by next year Honda does need to ensure it does not slip into being a player for only the small car segment and needs to keep it's flagship vehicle going.
Must say that while this has creases, leds, blah-blah, I much prefer the 2006 accord in terms of styling it just had character. I am not saying that they should have used that as inspiration but this thing is just boring.
EDIT: Oh this is my 200th post. Yay! stupid:
As i see it a toyoya badge on the car above and you will never believe it was not a camry.
^^ So it looks as good as a Camry or as Boring as a Camry or just similar. Agree though. Both the latest Camry and Accord are going quite a bit back down the conservative route compared to their recent previous versions.

OTOH, they have made the Accord a little smaller overall, but increased interior passenger room and trunk volume. They have also reduced road noise. So some of the Accords pitfalls (big, bloated, noisy) have been addressed. More than that, they still offer manual transmission version on both 4 cyl and 6 cyl in the US. They have gone with a CVT for an automatic, and it is the best implemented CVT from any brand to date. From driving the new Accord and Camry - while look wise the Accord maybe just as plain as the Camry, it just is head and shoulders above the Camry in terms of interior fit and finish, drivertrain quality and refinement.

Honda launched the new Accord in Malaysia. Is it one step closer to us?
Honda Malaysia officially launched the new Honda Accord this morning in Setia Alam. The ninth-generation Accord enters the D-segment sedan market as a CKD locally-assembled model in three variants – 2.0 VTi, 2.0 VTi-L and the range topping 2.4 VTi-L. The previous two Accords were launched in Malaysia with a V6 option, but there will be no six-pot this time around.
The outgoing Accord (ASEAN gets the same body as North America) had a very large body, and Honda’s surveys pointed them to the path of a smaller footprint – at 4,870 mm, this car is 80 mm shorter overall than the outgoing Accord, and its wheelbase length of 2,775 mm is 25 mm less than before. Coupled to the fact that it’s slightly wider (+5 mm) and lower (-10 mm), the new Accord looks slimmer and more athletic in the metal.

I love this car. It looks clean, is super spacious and pretty much offers every cutting edge feature that Honda has in its kitty. It also helps to know that Consumer Reports, KBB, Car and Driver and pretty much every auto authority out there, puts this car right at the top of the heap in its segment.
Honda, though, has made it clear that the Accord doesnt feature in its near-term India plans (
http://profit.ndtv.com/news/industri...by-2015-323765 ) which is pretty disappointing.
With the 2013 Accord now launched in Australia, Thailand and Malaysia, Honda seems to have covered most of its RHD markets. Which makes you repeatedly ask yourself - Why is only India being singled out?
If anyones got news/inside info on Honda's Accord plans in India, please do share.
Woah...Me just saw he 2013 Honda Accord pics now. After the edge styled last gen ,Honda has gone soft and that too like a Camry.
Reminds me of the early 2000s, when both the Camry and Accord had almost indistinguishable front ends.
just waiting to see the launch in India
Honda seriously needs to do more in terms of exterior styling. This looks too much like a boring fleet car. The interiors look OK, but the faux wood needs to go.
The old car was unnecessarily long. It felt heavy and ponderous through corners and was certainly no driver's car. They say this one is smaller. That's good. Hope is lighter and a bit more fun to drive. Otherwise, it'll just get lost in the old man's barge category.
Bumping on this old thread in search of an information.
Does anyone know what was the Ex-Showroom price of 2013 Honda Accord 2.4 Petrol AT?
And any owners/ex owners of this particular model around?
A reference pic of the model below:

I have recently acquired a used 2008 Accord 2.4 AT.
Unfortunately the car didn't come with the Owners Manual. I asked Honda but they no longer have it!
Does anyone here have the Owners Manual for this specific model that they wouldn't mind parting with? Or more realistically - won't mind xeroxing and couriering to me? I'll take care of the expenses, of course.
Thanks!
