Mod Note : Team-BHP's Range Rover Driving Report has been uploaded at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread.
Here's the only pic of the new 2013 Range Rover, courtesy
Luxury Car news, reviews, spy shots, photos, and videos - MotorAuthority.
Well, it sure looks fine
or look fine after a certain time, but there are distinct Discovery/LR4 influences that are hard not to notice. And those fins on the front bumper look a bit amiss on this car. Not to mention the ones on the front fender.
But then, on second thoughts, that's how a modern Range Rover should be. At least its a totally different car now. That stance was starting to loose its timelessness a little.
So, I like it.Quite the evolution.:)
Here's one interior spy shot as well

Well the stance is looking a bit odd because the air suspension is lowered, but till I see some proper pics, I don't like it. The interiors are gorgeous, but the car is just not boxy enough to be a Rangelol:. Hopefully my opinion will change after seeing better pics.
Clearly the The New Range Rover Has Been "Evoqued" Interiors bear a lot of similarity
Looks better in the second set of pictures. Handsome alright, but the current Range looks just a little better from the outside. Something seems off, cannot quite put my finger on it. Maybe, if we see it in full colours...
I see the Range Rover getting more Evoque-ish. It sure looks good with the updated interiors but upfront I dont like the new headlamp cluster, why? because RR's are known to be boxy and the overall design is also boxy-ish so looking at this picture I think somethings not right. Well lets just wait and watch.
Update: Their website says "UPDATE: We've removed the photo at the request of Jaguar-Land Rover. You can see our preview rendering of what the next Range Rover might look like in the image above."
I have attached their rendering.
So I guess this was something really close to the production version as JLR requested them to remove it from their site.

Right, so my post should have started as : This is the first
undisguised pic of the new 2013 Range Rover. Thanks.
Is it the angle of the photo? But the Rangie do look like too much lowered. Almost like a Toyota Probox.
No! these should have been the lines for the Range Rover Sport. This car looks too sporty and stylish to be as Majestic as a Range Rover! The D pillar(if the pillar along the tailgate is called so) is too slanting and the headlamps too sweepy. Hope the "standard ride height" is not set this low. Overall the car looks too aerodynamic. May be Land Rover wants to improve on volume business. So concentrating on road manners and hi-speed comfort. But in that case it will be sad. Please LR not atleast with the flagship Range Rover please:

2012 Ford Flex!
That's a terrible stance! And they've ruined the timelessness that the Rangie was known for. What did the designers have in mind while sketching this car? A comfortable and luxurious go-anywhere SUV with loads of character, or a prop for the next rap-video?
The waist-line seems to have been lowered while the height has been retained and the car looks more like a tall estate than a proper SUV. And what's up with those lights and those ugly fin-like vents below them?
Thoroughly disappointing.
It shares the XJ's platform?
Then the transformation of the legendary off roader to luxury road car posers is complete.
Oh no doubt they will retain off road ability to the extent that car based SUVs are capable of off roading. But clearly, LR has accepted that these vehicles are road going transport for the rich, alternatives to the S Class, and not world exploring vehicles. Thus ends the legend of the Range Rover as a great overlander, overtaken by the wider public awe at its stature as a display of wealth, power and privilege.
Clearly the tall 'almighty' stance of the RR is missing in this new version. It looks more like a SUVish station wagon, like the Q7.
The headlamp+grille combo looks very attractive and definitely modern. But then as we move lower down the front end, the bumper with fins and a meek looking lower grille and fog lamp assembly spoil the show significantly.
I hope JLR works on them and releases a better design.
