Ferrari, the manufacturer reputed for producing some of the finest naturally aspirated motors in the world seems to have finally resorted to forced induction.

Here is a video of the new power plant being tested in a California at the Fiorano.

Although there are no official confirmations, the unmistakable turbo whine in the video is more than a give away I guess.

Saw this video yesterday. Ferrari going the turbocharged way isn't very likely considering how all other major European manufacturers have given in to emission norms but Ferrari stuck to a n/a motor with the FF, a car that could have done with a turbocharged unit considering the fact that it is an estate-ish vehicle.
Chances are high that the California could be testing the engine for the new Maserati Quattroporte which will come with a turbocharged engine.

There was a rumour saying fiat invested a good amount of money in ferrari engine development wing to develop engines for high end Alfa Romeo and Maserati.Which includes V6 Turbo and V8 engines and these engines are not for the prancing horse.

And here it is: the new Ferrari California T, the first turbocharged Prancing Horse since the amazing F40 supercar! Out goes the sweet-sounding 4.3L naturally-aspirated V8, and in its place comes a twin-turbo 3.8L V8. The new engine pushes a massive 560 bhp @ 7500 rpm, and a whopping 755 Nm torque at 4750 rpm!

Ferrari has said that the California T has improved dynamics over its predecessor, thanks to a sharper steering and the improved magnetorheological dampers, for quicker direction changes and better body control.

Oh, and I think this is the most beautiful Ferrari in the current range.

Ferrari will unveil the California T at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. It is powered by a 3855 cc, turbo charged, V8 engine, which is mounted low on the chassis and in a mid-front position. The engine produces 560 PS @ 7500 rpm and 755 Nm of torque @ 4750 rpm, which Ferrari claims, can propel the car from a standstill to 100 kph in 3.6 seconds.
