Exactly! When they release a car the whole world is talking about it, and when we do it hardly anyone knows about it.

:OTLook at the first policeman from left. I thought pot belly officers were our national treasure.

I'd read somewhere that these supercars are used for the purpose of transporting vital organs across European and Middle-Eastern cities. I think it was in an Automobile Magazine. :)

One of the City of Glasgow's (Scotland) Ford Focus ST-3 RPU fitted with Mountune Performance Packages of enhanced suspension and engine upgrades making this an extremely rapid pursuit vehicle - Mountune Performance Packages

Just wondering, while inducting a 'supercar' into the force does make for good press, how effective are they really required to be?

I mean wouldn't getting the license number of a speeding offender be enough to track him down in countries like these? Surely countries that can afford to induct these sort of cars into the police force have a decent database of registered cars.

And when it comes to the proverbial 'car chases', again, looks good on TV, but wouldn't the cops actually radio ahead and have road blocks put up instead of attempting to chase down a criminal car?

On a serious note, do they really need or is it more of a showoff?

Dubai Police's NEED FOR SPEED continues with the Ferrari FF :D

In Aspen, Colorado, they had Saab police vehicles. They were leased to the police force by Saab. Other than novelty, they did not provide anything extra. Later the city council found them too costly to maintain (about 400 dollars per month only I think)

Would be interesting to see how much are the police departments charged for these super cars or are they leased which is not too much.

Charlotte(NC) PD used to have a few unmarked 350zs and they used to prowl around upscale areas. :D

Saw this on FB. Rumor is that a Bentley Continental GT will also join the exotic fleet of Dubai Police

I guess this will finally end with a Veyron:D

From the Dutch stable . Mercedes G wagen! I have never seen this as a cop car in my life.

Kerala Police is getting plenty of gadgetry filled Chevrolet Tavera cars and Kochi Police would be allotted 18 such vehicles. The first lot of 9 vehicles have already reached Kochi. They are fitted with GPS, Radio controls and Tracking systems. Press report says that the cars are capable of doing 150 KMPH.
