Re: Rumour: Volkswagen Taigun compact SUV likely for India

The car / CSUV looks good in terms of interiors and fit & finish. Just that things go down in quality because of localization and corner cutting as it is evident in Ford Ecosport India version versus Brazil version. Lets hope that the German Car Maker sticks to same international standards when this machine is offered to Indian.

This can give a good run to Ford in terms of presence and performance.

Nice car to sit & drive I must say.

The concept has already been road tested by a couple of international media publications:

Re: Rumour: Volkswagen Taigun compact SUV likely for India

2016 ? c'mon VW. How many more suffix and prefix will you keep adding to your Vento and Polo series till then ?

2016 seems like VW is targeting the EcoSport and duster owners who get bored and want to change their cars !!

Looks like Ford will enjoy sales till 2015 when XA Alpha and Hyundai SUV will hit the road

Somehow it looks a bit like the Dacia Duster!

re: VW to develop EcoSport/Duster Rival - The Taigun. EDIT: Project shelved

Volkswagen Taigun compact SUV headed to Auto Expo 2014, could be on sale in 2016 for the Indian market.

Quote:
While the concept shown earlier measured 3,859mm (just under the crucial four-metre mark) in length, Volkswagen is known to be working on a stretched version that will feature a longer wheelbase to free up more interior space, while still keeping the length under four metres. However, it remains to be seen which version of the Taigun will be displayed. As for the cabin, VW has designed it to resemble the simplicity of the latest smartphones. Its clean, minimalist look aims at being visually clear and simple to use.

re: VW to develop EcoSport/Duster Rival - The Taigun. EDIT: Project shelved

If its any where close to the size of Ecosport, as per me it may not make good on sales. I am sure VW would price it on the higher range. (>13/14) And at that rate, with no space, it may not find many takers.

At 15/18 OTR Bangalore (18 being top end), I would say the Honda offering (Vezel would be an ideal upgrade at that price range.

re: VW to develop EcoSport/Duster Rival - The Taigun. EDIT: Project shelved

Volkswagen is said to be bringing the Taigun compact SUV to the Auto Expo in February.
Based on the Up! hatchback, the Taigun is less than four metres in length, which means it is eligible for tax concessions in India.
While VW has plans to build the car in India, it is not expected to go on sale before 2016.

re: VW to develop EcoSport/Duster Rival - The Taigun. EDIT: Project shelved

Interesting news, I wish the news should be true. Anyways it's going to take another 18-24 months. By the way before launching a product like this one VW should put their sales and service network in order.

Volkswagen Taigun Asia-specific version to be showcased at Auto Expo 2014!

Features which point to this being an Asian version are a spare wheel on the tailgate. Engine details coming shortly, most likely to be the 1l TSI for petrol, Diesel mill to be ? as of now!

VW confirms Taigun for India, but when?

Redesigned for emerging markets, theTaigun looked very impressive.

The Taigun looks like a complete antithesis of the EcoSport. Those who loathe its looks will call it dull and boring, while others may call it elegant and understated.

It was good until I saw the interior. Horrible.

+1

It does look to overdone an interiors for that car. They should have kept it simple yet sporty and elegant.

The current interiors harm my eyes. What was VW to if when they designed it.
